Speaking of him joining CHAOS, that was a very strange moment. I could actually see him joining Bullet Club to fight the Elite. Waitasec, Jay White joined Chaos...WHY?!?!?! I love NJPW right now, but there have been some straight up weird booking decisions after the Jr Heavyweight Title match. He gave a press conference promo that explained it really well. Basically, he pointed out that in NJPW, nearly everyone's in a faction and you can't do it all alone, and Omega unintentionally gave him the opportunity to cause some chaos (titledrop) in Bullet Club, so now he's going to destroy their faction. But that as soon as he's done, he's coming for Okada. And he said this all while sat next to Okada literally telling him to watch his back cause he's gonna stab him in it pretty soon. It's a hell of a promo and I'm hyped for his match with Omega. This kid has only just turned 25. He could be something very special. Right Yes you have guys like Suzuki who you recognize as crazy as f*** and Suzuki-Gun itself is a classic heel faction but Minoru himself has the respect of the fans Don't come into the match thinking of it as heel or face because the pace and drama of the match will determine how the characters interact in the ring like when Tanahashi got desperate against Okada and started doing underhanded shit to win What I love about Suzuki-Gun is that there's the running theme that all of them are miserable bastards who love torturing people and embarassing them. Everyone of them, with the possible exception of Kanemura (who's gimmick I'm still trying to figure out besides "likes whiskey") are obsessed with making people miserable, or are just flat out insane. That's why I like ZSJ as part of this group, he has aims to be a torture master like Suzuki someday. They've built them up well, and I need to look up last year's NYD to watch them raid the show now. I liked Lance Archer just being this spitting nasty big Texan prick alongside the cold menace of Suzuki at NYD. A nice contrast and gives this vibe that guys like him or Taichi can get away with being such cocks because who is gonna dare tell Minoru to make them knock it off? But ZSJ...eh. He seems like an unenthusiastic Minoru ripoff tbh. He has utterly zero presence, charisma, or expressiveness in the ring to the point he has actual go-away heat for me. He just does moves in sequence like a robot, then seems bored when he's supposed to be selling. And it's not coming off like an Ice Man, it's coming off as incredibly phony to me. Do not get the hype around him at all and I hope to God he's not Minoru's heir.

Sorry if I missed it, but have Meltzer's star ratings for WK12 been posted?

Sorry if I missed it, but have Meltzer's star ratings for WK12 been posted? They won't be out until next week's Wrestling Observer Newesletter comes out around Wednesday.

Kanemaru's gimmick is the same it always was: bore us. Seriously I was aleady boring in NOAH when he was pushed as a quasi-ace of the Jr. division. Now he has more personality but is just as boring. So, yeah, he's torturing us. I dunno, those big matches with Liger and KENTA were pretty sick. True. But they were against opponents who were largely more interesting than him in every conceivable way. Kanemaru against, say, Taiji Ishimori, Ricky Marvin or even goddamn Christopher Daniels? No, no way. He just bores. And likes whiskey now.

I know it includes New Years Dash too, but seeing this thread at 163 pages is f***ing insane to me. That is more pages than any PPV thread for WWE outside of the Big 4 last year, and just slightly over double what last year's was. The popularity explosion they've had this past year has been incredible.

Still, it's a good uptick. Jericho brought people to the table.

Still, it's a good uptick. Jericho brought people to the table. There's a good chance this maybe becomes a seasonal spike, kind of like how the Network spikes up during Mania. At this point even having a casual come-and-go fanbase is a boost for New Japan, as is pulling in almost 25 million yen on the bump, even if everyone runs.

I signed up right after the new year. WK and NYD were the first full shows of NJ I watched and even watched them live. The shows flew by and were enjoyable from start to finish. While I can only go back in the archives a few times a month, I'm definitely keeping NJ World. Getting up early on the east coast wasn't bad and I wasn't too tired during the day at work.
I think after Wrestlemania I'll be done with their network as I don't catch most of their shows anymore due to a lack of interest in the product. I had watched NJ on AXS when I had it, but I'm glad I finally bit the bullet for NJWorld.
How many live shows does NJ put on during the year for NJ World? Do they typically start at 4:30 AM east coast time as NYD did?

PPVs like WK, The Entire G1 Climax Tournament, BOSJ, as well as Road to events from Korakuen Hall, The Lion's Gate show and more. Starting time varies as you can check the schedule on their English page at njpw1972.com, remember that the time they show on there would be considered the time in Japan and in the US we're 11 hours behind on the east coast, 10 during DST. So a show airing at 5pm there would be at 3am here right now.

WK 12 thoughts: Damn, Brandi! Cody/Ibushi was a nice contrast of styles. The ruse spot was hilarious. Ibushi's Phoenix Splash is amazing. LUCHA DARYL! The Fatal 4 Way Jr. Heavyweight Title match was fantastic. Jericho and Omega had a hell of a bloody brawl. My one big complaint was Naito not winning the title. Overall, I still enjoyed this show more than Raw and Smackdown last week. Oh, and I thought this was worth giffing:

Watching the post-NYD interviews, some notable items came up:
1. Tama wasn't upset at White turning down the Bullet Club, and instead notes that "maybe the wrong guy was recruiting him." More anti-Omega/Elite comments, and not necessarily pro-Cody either. 2. War Machine officially said their goodbyes in their brief press conference, as expected. 3. Hiromu challenged Ospreay. EVIL challenged Goto, calling him the "weak, lifeless" member of CHAOS. 4. YOSHI-HASHI challenged Naito to a one-on-one match. I'm guessing that's a special challenge contest at New Beginning, and the Jericho match is at Dominion...?

Dominion seems an awful long time to stretch it out. I get the whole "Don't blow a big Naito match in the US" idea, but Naito's got to face SOMEONE at the California show...
