Jay White does not fit this gimmick at all. This show has been great in person, how is it looking to you dudes? Okada cosplayer girl is playing footsie with me btw and I’m not losing. Is she British? I have a FB friend who cosplays as Okada from time to time, it'd be crazy if you ran into her.

Nooooooope, I love Yano's antics. I need to watch more of his heel stuff too to get an even better appreciation. I love NJPW's goof wrestlers more than I think any other fed. All of my disdain for Yano comes from that stupid face he makes. That's probably my favorite part of Yano. He can do it right after something works, right after he gets caught by a ref, or right after he gets pummeled for being Yano, and it works.

Also, when Taka's music played during the Rumble and saw this young looking guy run out while the commentators mentioned him, I figured he had a son or something. When I realised it was actually him I was astounded. Someone check his attic for portraits.

Dude's been at it since 92 or 93, and he's only 44. That's nuts.

Hard to watch Elgin now, and awkward to watch his tag partners pretend to like him. I wonder if he'll be gone shortly. I can’t imagine Elgin is terribly popular anywhere he goes right now. If I were him, I’d be worried about my future with NJPW. I haven’t really kept up with the backstage NJPW in a piece, could someone fill me in on this Elgin news please?

That match just showed everything wrong with WWE right now Everything A Veteran who has wrestled for them for decades, just wrestled the best match he's had in decades on what was basically a whim Take effing notes. And to think they told Jericho up and down "Just go out there and have Owens beats you, none of this Friendship shit." Jericho is a made man. Like you guys said, he can call his shots now. Damn, now I kinda want to go on the JeriCruise.

Like many people, this was my first NJPW show, and I was pretty much blown away. The only match that I didn't really enjoy was the gauntlet tag which was a bit too all over the place for me, but the rest was really enjoyable. It really was cool seeing all the different styles, from the constant action of the four-way, to the almost uncomfortable brutal nature of Suzuki/Goto, to what might have been the best hardcore brawl I've watched since Royal Rumble 2000 in Omega/Jericho. Definitely going to use the rest of this month catching up with past events and might keep the subscription going from there. The gauntlet match was just to get as many people on the main show as possible. Guys like Juice and Ishii had great years and it was just a way to throw them a bone. As far as catching up, the last four matches on last year's Wrestle Kingdom were all incredible, good place to start. There is some good stuff in the G1 tournament, especially anything with Nagata, Omega, Okada, Ishii, Tanahashi, Kota Ibushi, ZSJ and Juice. It's going to take a while to get truly caught up, you can skip most of the Tag title matches outside of War Machine vs TenCozy(Hiroyoshi Tenzan and Satoshi Kojima). A lot of the NEVER openweight title matches weren't that good either, outside of Shibata vs Goto at Wrestle Kingdom. Okada's title defenses were great, the IC title has been booked well and same with the US title.

It cracked me up that the Jay White/Tanahashi deal closed the Power Struggle show instead of Jericho/Omega. It's like we saw this epic angle and announcement and then after the main event here comes this punk kid looking like a cross between Kylo Ren and a member of The Cure. Am I the only one who thinks he still might join the Bullet Club though? As in he will face Omega, lose the match, and then Omega will toss him the shirt again and this time he takes it?

The energy in that crowd, they've seen all these amazing matches, and they're still going strong That's the thing that I noted when I was watching it live. It was a 6+ hour show, and the crowd didn't seem to lose an ounce of energy. A typical WWE crowd loses it's steam now about an hour into the show and doesn't seem to ever get it back. Not even for Wrestlemania. And it's not the US crowds, it's the product for sure.

That would make him look like such a total punk. Honestly I think he’ll beat Omega. Maybe via some Cody shenanigans.

Even though he just announced he joined CHAOS, I can see him beating Kenny and joining Bullet Club. And that's where we get the BC/Elite split.

All of my disdain for Yano comes from that stupid face he makes. Really the only time I've liked a Yano routine is when he was hyping up his DVD during G1 by carrying it around for every match, and trying to gift it to all his opponents, then I think Omega or Okada actually took it, opened the case, and it was full of flour ready for Yano to slap it into his face. Unfortunately the G1 also had his match with Elgin which just makes NJPW refs look like the most gigantic morons in history.

Somewhat I see Tanahashi taking him under his wing or having an "Always someone better" feud. That interaction they had after their match seemed to me to be an unspoken, "you're good, but not yet kiddo"

I think one of my favorite gags from WK/NYD is how much money Callis made off of Omega/Jericho, including Jericho paying him off for wiping him out at the press conference. Winnipeg.

I love NJPW right now, but there have been some straight up weird booking decisions after the Jr Heavyweight Title match.
