Luke Skywalker dying. Well, did he? I might just be in denial but, we saw that Yoda could summon lightning and hit Luke with his cane so, is he dead? Perhaps there's more to being "more powerful than you can possibly imagine" than we initially thought. That's probably the only thing that worries me coming out of this. I hope there are rules to what exactly "force ghosts" can do. Otherwise, we'll have multiple thousand "Gandalf the Whites" running around. That'll drive me nuts. We're in the post-"A Song of Ice and Fire" world, Hollywood, death means death. Any resurrections must result in a radically different character and rulebook. Oh man, I could just imagine a ripping off of the Army of the Dead from Lord of the Rings. The last of the Resistance are about to fall and suddenly Luke, Anakin, Yoda, Obi-Wan, and Qui-Gon appear to wipe the floor with the First Order. A total jump the shark moment. That scene with Yoda shouldn't have happen. Hell Obi-Wan even said in Empire he couldn't interfere

And also if there was one dead character that could do that it would be Anakin.
Hell he was conceive by the Force and able go back to his younger self

I'd be willing to bet anything that Hayden shows up in Episode IX to tell Kylo what's up.

We're in a post "A Song of Ice and Fire" world. Death must mean some sort of change now. Always. Must. But it won't. Too much money to be made. They killed Han off because, frankly, it was near-miraculous that Ford even came back for Force Awakens and there's no way to bring that character back now going forward. Not so with the Skywalker clan, who can be milked for all the nostalgia money.

So Star Destroyers can't actually destroy anything?
Also not sure why the invading First Order force at the end apparently must've made the active decision not to kill the two Resistence fighters who crashed right in front of them and then walked all the way back to the base.
But at least Phasma had a working armor.

Just saw it. It's late where I'm at, so I'll be brief. With the biggest criticism of Episode VII being that it was too much like A New Hope, I'm glad episode VIII wasn't just another rehash of Empire Strikes Back. Both sides were decimated in this one, and you can't really say that there was a "winner" in the end. Plus, Kylo Ren wasn't turned by Rey or even Snoke. Sure Kylo killed Snoke, but only to usurp him. Makes me wonder what's gonna happen next. Agreed. I liked that there wasn't a clear cut winner. Yeah, the Rebels escaped, but at a high cost, as there's only a handful left. They have hope, but that's about it. The First Order looked defeated, but they still had the numbers game, even with the casualties. Luke dying actually shocked me. I had to admit I didn't see that coming. I loved this movie. I thought it was amazing. Trailers I had were with it were A Wrinkle in Time, Rampage, Avengers: Infinity War, Samson, A Wallace & Gromit-type movie about a stone age boy in the bronze age, and a movie about a girl that falls in love with a spirit who inhabits a different person of the same age, male or female, every day. That last one was really weird.

That Half Anakin/Vader scene would have been cool as hell to see I'll be honest, that I really do want to see. Kylo's entire motivation is predicated on the misguided notion that Vader was Anakin's true self, and having him show up to tell him what a f***ing mook he is and help redeem him (if it is indeed the story they're going for) would also bring Anakin's story full circle. Plus it would be great to see Christensen get his teeth into a scene or two where he's not playing a whiny manchild.

I had to look up the name of that movie again. It's called Every Day, and apparently it's based on a New York Times bestselling novel.
It still looks incredibly stupid.

I forgot that probably my favorite part was BB-8 selling the disguise by doing the Imperial droid sound.

So anything memorable about the score?
Thats the one problem I had with Episode 7 and RO. Really don't remember much of the music. Say what you want about the prequels but they had some good music

Saw it.. really liked. What to see where it goes before judging some of the character arcs. But I’m ok with them for now. Must say seeing Adrian Edmondson (Vyvyan from The Young Ones, Eddie Hitler from Bottom) playing Captain Peavy (Hux’s right hand man) put a smile on my face. Was hoping he might go all Vyvyan in one scene.. well he survived this film, so maybe in ep IX

Saw it earlier today, absolutely loved it. The scene with Snoke’s death and subsequent fight between Rey/Kylo and Snoke’s guards was badass. Was a big fan of Luke overall in this film, especially the way he went out by getting in Kylo’s head and tricking him so the Resistance could escape. Very excited for Episode IX now, these two years between 7 and 8 went by fast. Let’s hope we can say the same in two years lol.

You know it had to be weird as hell when Anakin saw Obi-Wan again as a force ghost
In future movies they should show the Ghost World is like for these characters

OK, no spoilers. Thoughts on The Last Jedi.
For close to 40 years, any time we have seen a Star Wars movie, there was always The Question: does it meet the gold standard? Is it better than Empire?
For the first time in living memory for me, the king is in trouble. Yes, folks... this may be better than Empire. But I really REALLY need to think it over. Maybe even see it again. But right now, I feel the urge to watch it all, from Phantom Menace to Last Jedi, including Clone Wars and Rebels. Yes, this movie makes you want to do that. Every sweet spot hit, every box checked. At least three times, I out loud clapped.
But please, go see for yourself. Form your own opinion. I can only hope you feel as I do. That The Force isn’t just alive, but it is strong.

I wanted to post in a Last Jedi spoiler thread on a wrestling forum, especially. Because I had the thought, it's funny, Kylo keeps getting the rub, they keep feeding legends to Kylo. He's gonna end Undertaker's streak at WrestleMania next. Great movie by the way, lot of fun, really dug it. Subverted some tropes/expectations, was still very much another Star Wars adventure, good times. And it would be funny if that classy codebreaker played by Justin Theroux returned in the next one.
