Surprising but then again it isn’t. Viewers been down all year Yeah, it's not like I'm saying the Patriots vs Eagles are ratings poison, it's merely the league had such a high over the last few years that a decline was coming and this year was the complete decline

an ASTOUNDING game those first half TD catches were amazing for philly, but after that it was so very close, they just kept keeping pace with each other with ASTOUNDING stats! maybe that was the problem for the patriots as they wouldn't have had that momentum on their backs, but the eagles defense just kept going and going, and finally that one error ends the game! those two touchdown calls that went the way of the eagles were correct IMO that hit on cooks was brutal, does he still not know which direction he his going after that, and looked like he got knocked out too! the other injuries could have had a detrimental effect on new england. but WELL DONE TO THE PHILADELPHIA EAGLES FOR WINNING THEIR FIRST UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP ..... i mean THE SUPERBOWL!!!

Super Bowl ratings/viewship numbers have always baffled me, they should literally be "Watched by a lot of people but we really have no clue how many. Just know it's a large number". I mean, we had 40+ people around 1 giant TV last night. And all the bars were packed. And I doubt I was at the only Superbowl Party that existed. I don't even know where you could start guessing at a viewership number.
I know you can still pull a "percentage of TV's tuned into X Channel", but the amount of eyeballs is basically uncalculatable
And that doesn't even account for pirates with eyepatches , multiheaded aliens or rebroadcasting with only implied verbal consent instead of written.

Somehow, that legendary game last night got a lower overnight rating than 43-8.

Re : The Horse Feces Guy. How can he NOT understand that doing that means that everybody will associate every Eagles fan for the rest of time with that? It may not be fair, but it's what's going to happen. Like how everyone associates the Lions with the rimjob guy? I think Lions...I think Joe Cullen's trip through Wendy's drive-thru naked. Haha.

UnrinatingTree has a "Congrats, Patriots" video out, but I'm not posting it because it has the horse crap video in it.

And Steelers players still trying to compare the James Jones play to the Zack Ertz play.
Which my stance has been Ertz advance two steps to become a runner there, thus nullifying the catch thing (which the ref said the same thing) and James Jones didn't which still made it go under the catch rule....something I said to my friend immediately as I saw replay and was laughing at the announcers who were trying to compare it to James Jones.

I saw the two steps thing too, but I still figured "Don't bet against the Pats when a call is in dispute (even if it shouldn't be)."

I am a Steelers fan and the two catches are no way similar. I have no idea why people are making a big deal out of Zach Ertz's catch other than to stir up more controversy on the catch rule.

Because a kind of understated thing nationally given the whole "everyone in the US hates the Patriots" thing is that the Steelers have been...well, really, really whiny about the Patriots for a long time and have gone past "this is a rivalry" and into "butthurt." People get on "oh, the Patriots use the refs all the time" even if they don't- but right now the Patriots could blow the Steelers out of the building by 40 and they'd say "well, one of the Patriots had one foot offside in a forgettable play! They cheated and so we REALLY won!" It's honestly shocking that they took the Jacksonville loss without saying "Belichick and Brady used magic powers to make the Jaguars win because they knew they could beat them!" with how bad this season has been for it.
