Thought it was good overall. I didn't really feel it's length until I had to pee towards the end, then it was a battle of "I'm enjoying this, but we gotta wrap it up cause I gotta go." I watch so much horror films, I never really get scared by them, this included. So I don't judge something on if it's not scary enough, I think there were enough genuine horror moments that it accomplished what it set out to do. I also think the comedy elements were intentional. That scene with the elderly woman played very much as dark comedy, they know what they're doing. The cast was tremendous. Really spot on casting that made the flashbacks better. Is it on par with the first chapter? No, but it's a good ending to the story.

can't stop singing the song Pennywise sings (you know which one if you've seen the movie)

I'm actually surprised at the complaints about the length. I honestly felt like it flew by.

Could have benefitted from some editing, but I enjoyed it a lot.

I guess it helps that somebody else paid for my ticket, but I saw this in the theater Friday night and enjoyed myself. Seemed like the theater laughed at just about everything Bill Hader said in the movie.
Also didn't have a problem with the length.

I liked it well enough, I just wish horror movies could remember the ability to scare people without LOUDDDDDD NOISES.
And yeah, the it didn't feel as long as it was (insert joke). I was suprised when I left the theatre and it was nearly midnight.

Went to see this on Friday afternoon and just now got out of the theater. That said, it was pretty cool.

It was ok. It was a good 2 hour movie they stretched to 3 hours for some reason. You feel every bit of that runtime.
Was enjoyable, but that cutting room floor musta been spotless.
Really surprised some were fine with the length. They could have cut a minimum of a half hour and it wouldn't have mattered at all
Acting was good.
Though man, some of the character dialogue being outright saying plot points was corny as hell.

I have to agree, that the time flew by.

Saw it yesterday. Overall, I'm OK with it. I definitely enjoyed Chapter 1 a lot more, but I don't have any major negatives with this one. It's a bit clunky at times and amazingly not fleshed out at some parts despite the time.
I thought the casting was pretty spot on. Especially Eddie.

I'll say also some of the CGI monster stuff was just laughably terrible.
The old woman was creepy till she runs out there and it's this hokey looking cartoon bullshit that immediately killed any tension and had me laughing.
Same with ol Paul Bunyan. That f***er might as well have Roger Rabbit for as toon-y as it looked.

Yeah it felt like a satisfying continuation and conclusion to the first but its not as tight of a overall product as the first.
The Bowers stuff almost felt tacked on.
I do feel like the two movies are up there for King adaptations for sure. This one just showed its imperfections more often than the first chapter.

{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}I was hoping for something a bit more grotesque with his spider form. In the book the imagery revolving around the concept was so horrifying and formless that I had chills reading it. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}Richie breaking down over Eddie made me feel for him in the worst way. Much like in the book Eddie died alone in a horrible, desolate, and hellish domain with no one to take him away from that area. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}In regards to that scene with Richie breaking down over Eddie, Muschetti has revealed that Richie was in fact in love with Eddie. There are hints of it in the book, and that scene with Bowers' cousin where he offers another game of SF, because he likes him even if he is unsure why, and then gets insulted out of the arcade.
I can't believe it was not that obvious to me (even with the "dirty little secret" which made me think something else for some reason, but I honestly thought up until the carving that Richie's crying was about wishing he hadn't been such a smart-ass and not antagonized (as playful as it was) his best friend as much). I just read about that last night and to be quite honest, never picked up on the hints even in the book. Looking back on it now especially after watching the film it actually makes sense. Still felt bad for him despite the dirty little secret if you will.

To be fair the Bowers stuff is a lot longer in the book and goes into more detail. Adult Bowers in the book with his confrontation with Mike was one of my favorite parts of the novel. It probably felt tacked on due to how quickly it was resolved given how lengthy Bowers descent into evil madness is in the book.

The old lady was creepy until the reveal, the Paul Bunyan was absolutely terrifying in the novel and didn't come off as such in the film. It bothers me that they're relying on CGI for monster effects rather than utilizing make-up, practical effects, and actual puppetry to make the effects that much more realistic. For example, the scene with {Spoiler}Stanley's head manifesting spider legs out of his flesh was done terrifically and looked realistic. Very creepy scene. {Spoiler}The Asian restaurant scene with the fortune cookies. Would've been creepier if they used make-up and puppetry, especially in regards to the insect with the face of a baby.

The Bowers stuff will most likely be in the extended cut of the film for DVD or theatrical re-release.

The best scene was the mirror one because he's showing one of them how helpless they are by not being able to prevent more victims. Should have been more of that. Or, I dunno, just brainwashed more people to do his dirty work...
