Stupid comment, but there's been an undercurrent of JR being an asshole for DECADES. Him being brilliant in the attitude era and Vince wanting to make fun of him has given him a massive let off, but there's stories of him being an egotistical sexist asshole going back to the 80s, the guy drowned a bag full of puppies when he was a kid and thought it was a fun anecdote for goodness sake.
I liked his work, I do like his dry humour at times, but I've long since realised he's just not a very nice guy.

He is right in the sense that people shouldn't be paid for not appearing, but the part about not earning is where he lost me.

If it's true WWE paid the women, then it's pretty remarkable to me that WWE did it. They did that without any outside pressure. I recall plenty of people who felt the women were getting a raw deal, but I don't remember any one saying they should still get paid, so WWE did this without being yelled at by fans to do so.

Serious lack of tact here.

It didn’t even cross my mind that they would get paid for GRR to be honest. Although the whole ‘to be on the card you have to earn it’ thing is a nonsense if they are not allowed to perform. Like I said, give them their own PPV so they can earn it.

He's right. The women should have put their hair in hats and wore Groucho Marx glasses to compete.

Wait.....what Presuming you're talking about the puppies thing, his Dad apparently made him do it because apparently back then you'd only keep the one or two puppies and the rest were just useless I guess? Anyway, he tells the story on his spoke word show and rather than being a horrifying ordeal he talks about it like "well, we were kids!"

If the women got paid the WWE diddnt do it out of the kindness of their hearts, it would have been to boost moral during what is quite a shitty situation.
JR should know better than anyone the importance of raising moral from his time in talent relations, hell diddnt he give Edge a signing bonus to pay off his student loan so that he would be completely focused?

I went to his show and he didn’t tell that story, unless I blocked it out. But, man that is enough to really scar someone for life.

Anyway, he tells the story on his spoke word show and rather than being a horrifying ordeal he talks about it like "well, we were kids!" it was not unheard of for that with kittens and puppies it was the way to deal with the overpopulation problem instead of spay and neutering which I don't believe was available.

JR should go back to Dr Heiny so they can remove Ross's head from his own ass again.
As Penn Jillette would say, "You need to shut the f*** up!"

But don’t you have to work to get paid. I don’t see what the issue is. You don’t work you don’t get paid. That’s how jobs work

Like I said, give them their own PPV so they can earn it. But it's really not that simple: to run a PPV you have to rent a building, have to run ads, have to pay your live production people, logistical staff, make videos and graphics, pay for gas and trucks and hotel rooms... The company would have to go to great expense to arbitrarily make people "earn" a bonus from the company having a big financial windfall that changed plans and led to the cancellation of house shows they were supposed to be booked for that weekend anyway.

This is so blown out of proportion. The WWE does 200+ shows a year, I doubt anyone on the roster makes every show. In the last month, they have been flying across the world back and forth. Most women were probably thinking "I don't have to take a long ass flight into a stupid desert and instead I can just chill at home for a weekend? Sounds good to me."

But don’t you have to work to get paid. I don’t see what the issue is. You don’t work you don’t get paid. That’s how jobs work Because the reason why someone isn't working is just as important. Preventing someone from making money due to discrimination is not the same thing as how simplistically you phrase it. Sounds good to me." You're projecting. You have no idea how they feel about it. Remember they say about 'assuming.' Plus, there's a big difference between not being booked for a show, and being left off of one when in regular circumstances you would be on it. Especially when big money is involved.
