Given the money their bidding on for it, just how long would it take Disney to make up the money for it. It ain't exactly pocket change that their spending on it.
I guess they could always release a yodeling version of Let it Go to make money.

Probably a good 10 to 15 years given how quickly and how many ways they could monetize the new properties they'd own (theme parks, movies, TV, stage shows, etc).

as I said the first time this came up you can complain about monopolized megacorporations and there is a reason to be worried about that... but Fox was selling. It does feel like you've said this a lot. Understandable but still lol. To add context to this for people who don't know, Fox is essentially getting rid of everything EXCEPT the Fox Network, the sports networks and Fox News. The regional sports networks, FX and FXX, the TV and film production arms, their percentage in Hulu, their percentage of BSkyB, a tonne of IPs mostly because those aren't making the same reliable money that Fox, Fox Sports and Fox News are and have been for years. This is pretty much the equivalent of someone selling a friend most of their possessions and keeping the basics to make things more clearcut. Or to buy the rights to Smackdown for $1bn a year for 5 years, whichever one makes a better analogy. Yes...it is kind of like when CBS bought Viacom, only to have a new Viacom out there as well.

Comcast just get out of the deal. I'd like to think that the whole "planning their next move" is them trying to get Disney to sweat. In the end I think Disney will win.

One big concern directly, to me at least, is Fox selling their share in Hulu. I have a concern this could lead to Fox shows getting the boot from Hulu once contract negotiations come up, especially with Disney prepping their own brand streaming service.

Yes, their Hulu share is part of the package. There's been some talk that Disney may then try to buy up the rest of Hulu and rebrand it as their own service.

Interesting that the key to Disney being allowed to acquire 21st Century Fox is the divestment of the regional Fox Sports networks. Wonder what happens to them.

I'd expect the FSNs be divided into three groups: one group owned by Comcast (as a consolation prize for not getting Fox), a Second group owned by Spectrum and a third group owned by AT&T EDIT: And by the way, YES would go entirely back to the Yankees

Honestly it's in Disney's best interest that they aren't getting the RSNs. ESPN doing more localized content besides radio shows just never works

To add potentially a new step of things to Disney’s favour...
Murdoch’s been given approval to take over Sky from the British Government.

It was only inevitable but... t.co/IlFrOY6LQ7The shareholders of Disney and Fox approve the merger so it's essentially gone over all the stumbling blocks to happen.

so does this mean that F4 are usable for the mcu phase following the infinity war?
What other marvel characters does this leave outside of disney's hands?
