I love vicious heel Bryan, but I don't know where this leaves Smackdown in terms of face/heel balance. Not in great shakes, really. Styles, Hardy and Mysterio are kind of it as it goes for main event level faces. Beyond that, the next best singles guy is, like, R-Truth. And Jeff Hardy is on his last legs and Mysterio has no knees. WWE really need to bring some fresh faces up from NXT.

Clearly, this is a knee-jerk panic move that was already planned several weeks ago and that asshole Vince pushed Bryan into a heel turn he'd been asking for whilst also giving him the title.
I don't know why Bryan puts up with it all!

Also, this plays out like a classic “He’s got THE HEATZ~!” story from days of yore. Remember the speculation that he was never going to get close to being world champion ever again for boycotting Crown Jewel? Not even two weeks later, he’s holding the gold.

So, how many people have turned in the last two months? It seems like half the roster, which isn't ideal as turns should be memorable moments, like when Batista gave Trips the thumbs down, The Shield recognized the biggest injustice in the WWE, or when that coward Janetty jumped through the window to escape. All these turns, it feels like, well......

Since he's probably going to be playing babyface against Brock on Sunday, Bryan should just go full Bella and switch between babyface and heel at the drop of a hat.

For all the shit Vince deservedly gets at times, I also wouldn't be surprised if he respected Bryan a hell of a lot more for taking that stand and turning down that Crown Jewel payday.

The mind of Vince McMahon... one of humanity’s great curiosities, that’s for sure.

Shows you how much Bryan matters to Vince too. He turned down Crown Jewel which may have included this pay off of winning the title and obviously a big pay day for himself Vince puts the title on him, gives him the Lesnar match and the heel turn he wanted

People fear everything because they let paranoia get the best of them
In just a few hours we went from why the f*** did they turn Bryan they don't know anything, to well DB has been pitching this for a while and finally got what he wanted

I'm not sure why "it's what he wanted" really matters if the complaint is with the storyline and/or fears of WWE's booking of the story.
Granted, I also have no idea why anybody would think Vince doesn't like Bryan, since all evidence points to the exact opposite conclusion.

I think the handwave, at least with me, is not agreeing with any fear over the booking of this one to begin with. For all intents and purposes this really seems the way to go for me.

Because sometimes what one of your top superstar wants takes more precedence over the story or lack thereof
Bryan has been on record of saying he knows WWE is shit in long term booking so pitching his own ideas could be his way of staying ahead of the curve
