Now, whether or not said release has been granted has not been specified yet, but I think the writing on the wall for this one has been apparent for quite a bit of time.

Hopefully they grant it, WWE needs to lose a good chunk of the roster stuck doing nothing.

This beg's the important question.
Who's replacing him on The Sweeetz?

I mean, he never really did anything beyond appear as number 10 in the RR so...

99% likely he wants to leave because Peyton Royce left him for Billie Kay

Ballsy to put out this statement without it being granted (yet). Guess he's trying to force WWE's hand.

This was a long time coming.
If I were WWE, I wouldn't be granting any releases 'til next Tuesday, so that there's no surprise appearances at Double or Nothing or anything like that.

Good on him. They weren't gonna do shit with him and probably wasn't making a super unattainable amount of money either.

I never saw him as much more than the really over enhancement guy... the perfect 10 gimmick he was doing is kinda slotted into that role...
but if he's let go hope he makes the most if it.

He had a fun gimmick, but didnāt do shit in his first run, he didnāt exactly light it up on the indies when he got released, and then he came back and they (and he) made him interesting.
Pretty closely mirrors the Sandow situation honestly. Though heās a better wrestler than Sandow, he doesnāt have the acting chops Sandow had. So weāll see how he fares out there away from WWE.
Pretty crazy to ask for his release on his birthday. Though heās pushing 40, so the time is now for him to see what heās worth. Good for him.

You know what, I never thought about it that way but yeah he's def a Sandow type
He's getting up there tho so got to make the best of his chances. At worst he gets brought back as a trainer/coach one day

I think the issue is that in modern WWE, there isn't even a space for enhancement acts. People who would be perfect as a lowercard babyface who come out, do their fun thing, and lose to the big bad heel are just not getting booked on TV period. He hasn't had a televised match since September. At a point it's not even a matter anymore of wanting a push, it's a matter of being in wrestling and just sitting around not wrestling.

Hopefully, the WWE releases him just for the sake of locker room morale. You don't want guys/gals who don't want to be there.

Good for him, hope he gets his release and moves on to someplace he'll be happier.
I don't see him as anything but average as average can be, but maybe he'll show me something somewhere else.

The writing was definitely on the wall.
When the SmackDown! roster was here back in September for a house show the night after Hell in a Cell, Tye jobbed out to Shelton via a god damned roll up of all things, and after the pin and Shelton bolted from the ring for āstealingā a win, Tye just sits up and looks directly at the audience on the side I was sitting on and said something like, āJust how it goes...ā with this look on his face that clearly said he was thinking, āWell f*** me, I guess...ā
Made even worse because the crowd was really behind him in the match.

If he wants out, and isn't going to move the needle for you or AEW probably, it seems like an easy decision.
