49 people confirmed dead. www.nytimes.com/2019/03/15/world/asia/new-zealand-shooting.htmlÅ co-worker showed me the video made of the killings and it was just terrible. I've been told by mods this thread will be monitered closely so please avoid all religious discussion and stick to the subject at hand so this won't get locked.

Horrific and my heart goes to everyone lost and those they left behind.
PewDiePie can rot in hell for willingly contributing to this.

It's really hard to speak on this without heading into lock terrority
All I can is I'm sorry for all the victims.
And screw anybody who (and I've seen people) have celebrated this happening

Unfortunately I fear these live streamed attacks are going to be the norm going forward. I know one of the terror cells in Europe that was broken up had GoPros or something similar along with their weaponry.

Given that this sick bastard cited Fortnite and Spyro the Dragon in his released documents, I'm inclined to believe on top of everything else he was he was also some psychopathic troll who mentioned a bunch of different things just to f*** with people.

Awful times.
Just horrible.
I wish the media would stop attempting to normalising hate groups. It’s not a matter of free speech, it’s about not giving these c***s what they obviously want. To spread their message.

It's complicated, but over the years, PewDiePie has made a series of off-kilter remarks and jokes, which cost him a deal with Disney as a result. He then became a meme himself after India began getting widespread access to the Internet, where a music channel, T-Series, began getting users by the boatload, causing "Subscribe to PewDiePie" to become a chant, where people would cause havoc, from graffiti to modifying information outposts, to mention that very slogan. Although he has submitted a response to the shooting, I just can't honestly feel like it's entirely sincere. And, yes, he has done charitable work, but it's easy to do charity work. That's how people like Donald Sterling managed to direct people away from decades of bigotry and being a terrible NBA owner.

Some people need mental help. Not more internet access and enabling. This was a mentally ill person that was so disconnected with reality that memes became his persona.
If we’re blaming PewDiePie for this shit then we should also blame the Spyro the dragon devs since he cites that game in his manifesto for teaching him about ethno cleansing. There are sick sick people out there and they aren’t getting help.

May this f***in’ loser rot in hell.
I watched the video. I’m pretty desensitized due to seeing so many vids of this nature over the years, due to my morbid curiosity..but this one really bothered me. May the innocent victims Rest In Peace.

Let's uncomplicate it, for the reason I posted what I did: He has a legion of followers, this guy apparently among them, who watch him dress in Nazi garb and make racist jokes.

RIP to the victims. Horrific for their families. And throughout all this that’s all I go back to.

There are entire websites and communities out there devoted to poking and prodding individuals until they snap and reaping the rewards of said individuals snapping for personal amusement. There are communities that foster unhealthy obsessions. Honestly, the internet is still the Wild West, and it's not going to be tamed.
