I must be in the minority of people who liked the Page match but I honestly thought it was the best match on the show and it built up both guys well. The only way to build up people is by showcasing them against top guys and I think they did a good job of establishing Kip Sabian as a future contender. Especially if they end up giving the belt to Page, they're going to need credible challengers and if Kip Sabien is someone they want to focus on for the future than having him go toe to toe with the no. 1 contender is a good way of doing that.

Show was weird, if you put this pre-show on Double or Nothing or Fyter Fest, it would have made either show better.
Cons: Just because you can do a long match or show, doesn't mean you should. They could have cut off about 10 minutes of the tag team main event, and probably another 5-7 minutes off the women's tag match on the preshow and another 5-7 minutes from Page/Sabian match. This was only their 3rd show, so I can't kill them too much, but they need to tighten up the the flow of the show.
Pros: Omega/CIMA was great, the three way tag match was great. Production was really solid, the venue looked awesome. Definitely the weakest show of the 3, but the pre-show was probably the best one.

Started watching tonight - there were still two hours to go once Page and Sabian finished. Was very long already even getting to that point, so I've broken the show up.

I will agree that the Sabian/Page match felt longer than it should have been, but I also see that the reason they wanted to make it almost 20. They're building a narrative for Page going into facing Jericho with all this: he's taking a challenging path to the championship while Jericho isn't challenged at all, he has a bum knee that is getting worse with every challenge he gets, and he's being pushed to his limit in every match. He's doing this because people (whether warranted or kayfabed through BTE) have been saying he might not be The Man who should be the first champion, and he's out to prove him wrong. A match with Sabian doesn't really make a lot of sense to get into, hell, the announcers kept hitting on that point, that the match was doing more harm than good, but Page is a prideful person, and he's being built up that he's not going to do this easily, whether it ends up costing him his shot at the title or not. The one misstep that I think AEW hasn't taken yet is Jericho hasn't targeted the knee yet specifically. Jericho has gotten away from the Walls Of Jericho, instead preferring the Judas Effect as his new killer move, so I'm not getting why they're going to keep selling Page having a bum knee when Jericho, the man who is making a career of taking advantage of his opponents, wouldn't immediately slap Page in the Walls when he Pearl Harbor'ed him. Unless they're saving that for a big moment at All Out, it makes no sense to me.
People saying that this is the worse match of the year really need to take a step back and look at the landscape right now. That probably won't even be the worse match of the week.

There's talk of having Fight for The Fallen be a yearly event.

I realized what the Bucks/Rhodes reminded me of; Okada/Scrull from All In.
As a match, it would have benefited from a trim here and there but the moments it needed to work worked and made it better.
I’m not going to rewatch it but the moment where the Bucks kick Cody in the back of the head is one I will because that’s excellent character work for what the match was setting up just like I’ll rewatch Scrull grabbing Okada’s hand after he mimes “205”.

There's talk of having Fight for The Fallen be a yearly event. A yearly charity show for a worthy cause is a good idea, but I think it'd be better for, well, everyone, if they went with an indoors arena instead. Unique aesthetic for the venue aside, I have to imagine working outdoors when it's that hot and humid was a bitch and a half.

I guess it's going to depend on if they're doing it for the same cause every year, or if it's going to be different charitable causes each time, like I am not sure if it's going to be coming back to Jacksonville every time or not.

I think Jacksonville makes sense due to the khan's and the fact that they can get the building pretty much free of charge. Maximises the money generated for charity and keeps overheads to a minimum. Win-win I'd say.

I feel like people are being way too harsh on the Sabian and Page match.
But only because I thought Sabian made that match decent and Page just barely sold his knee for half the match.
Cima and Omega was a bit disappointing, but I was kind of expecting one of the best matches I have ever seen.
There have only been a couple of outright bad matches on any of these shows, all on the pre shows. This is one of the more consistent wrestling products out there right now even if it is early days.
It is really electric just watching dozens of stars being made.
Also I thought the main event tag match was boring as shit and couldn't follow everything that came before it.

My favourite was the ladies tag match from the pre show.

Discount Stephanie aside, great show from top to bottom, though Allin could have been used better. Then again he wore skintight shorts so that's a plus.

Thoughts on the show:
Sonny Kiss makes me confused.
Love the Joshi girls, not so much the garbled subtitles.
Six man was good.
Could do without Brandi and feel like we're fifteen years too late to see the Kongs battle.
Really enjoyed the three way tag, some great double team moves. Dark Order not quite as cringy.
I enjoyed Kip and Page. Match flew pretty quick for me and that powerbomb on the stage made me nearly scream on my train this morning.
Lucha Bros match was OK. Kazarian is such a weird bumper and they were a hearty amount of Kane bumps in this match by Pentagon.
Omega/Cima was great. Cima never ever needs to do that missed Meteora, that will seriously f*** up your lower back.
Good God the main event did not end. Wet fart of a match and really let the show down IMO

Wasn’t sure where else to put this but good lord, Aubrey Edwards is growing to be one of my favorite officials in wrestling right now. She just GETS it and even though she’s probably smaller than me, she doesn’t seem like a person who takes shit if you’re in the ring and she’s your official.
Also, hey, she’s a woman who doesn’t just do women’s matches. Props.

Also, hey, she’s a woman who doesn’t just do women’s matches. Props. I agree there, I love her. I saw her doing ISW's Balls Out during WM weekend, and she was reffing a match between Chris Brookes and Chris Dickenson, and Brookes and Kid Lykos kept distracting Aubrey while getting in extra shots on Chris, and it hit a point where Brookes was so frustrated that he couldn't get a 3 from Aubrey that he got into her face a bit, she pushed him, and then he pushed her onto her butt. Then when Lykos tried to get into the match, she had had enough, kicked Lykos in the balls and threw him to the outside. The lady does not mess around when she's reffing. I love that. Plus, she was in the chat during 3-2-1 Battle's last event, just watching the action and shooting the shit with everyone, even though she was reffing Fight For The Fallen the next day. She's very much in the mold of Bryce, someone who genuinely loves wrestling, loves her role, and she takes it damn seriously. We need more people like her in wrestling.

Between her and Knox, and Bryce Remsburg AEW has some of the coolest refs in professional wrestling.
