I’m really not digging Tom King’s Bane. For some reason he’s always naked, and I’m tired to hell of this stupid arc.

Cletus Kassidy. That version of Carnage has run its course.

For Damian and Jason, depends on who is handling them. Saw a recent(?) comic where Jason finally made some peace with what happened to him, and that's a good step for the character, that he accepted that what happened to him was because he went it alone. If that moves him away from being such a dickhead, super. Damian works a bit better if you play his arrogance against his insecurities. He's overcompensating because he doesn't just have one parent figure who is difficult to get approval from like a lot of these types, but three in the form of Bruce, Talia, and Ra's. He also knows he isn't ever going to have the same relationship with Bruce that Dick or Tim have, and that f***s with him, too, so he has to try to act like he's perfect. I think there a way forward with the character in that which keeps him from being a dime-store edgelord. I think you also have to embrace the inherit silliness of Damian as almost a living parody of "I'MBATMAN" portrayals of Bruce, like Damian claiming he can rest parts of his brain individually to never have to sleep. Patently bullshit, but exactly the kind of thing a kid would think makes him sound impressive. Damien has been good in any arc he has where he interacts with Dick. They do a great job of showing how those two have grown. I also like the current Teen Titans run with Damien clearly wanting to be a better person and develop as a leader but fearing showing weakness. As for the thread? In the recent Aquaman comics (which have been great) Mera has been difficult to like.

Modern day Carol Danvers is insufferable. Came in here to post this. Also, Lorna Dane is a total bitch.

Fair point that it really falls upon the writer to make a character interesting (and the artists to be able to tell the story well but that's a another thing). I just don't get Sinister and Apocalypse.

Looking at how Harley Quinn is portrayed as this whacky heroine these days, I have to wonder if anyone else murders she once helped murder Jim Gordon's wife. She is complicit in so many crimes and deaths, it just feels so hollow and forced.

As I said very few characters do I outright hate... but I did think of a trope that I am over just because it's been overused far too much. Genius kids that are smarter than all of the adults. Marvel had a streak where they introduced like 5 new super genius kids in a row... I think >_> That said she's not really a Hero she's an anti-hero like the Punisher.

Yeah, there are also definitely characters who are clearly not comfortable around her and distrust her, so it's not like it's just been a blank check, either.

Man, I’m looking at some of these lists and I have to find it funny that a lot of these characters are some of my favorites. Mister Fantastic (My favorite member of my favorite team) Cyclops (My second favorite hero over all after Spider-Man Jason Todd (My favorite Robin) Similar, as while I also hate Mister Fantasic, Cyclops and Jason Todd are literally my favorite male characters from the Big Two. On the flipside, I haaaate Jean Grey in the comics. Almost busted a gut reading the scene where she's in the process of dying, and Scott freakin' picks THAT MOMENT to deliver the "Um, I don't think this is working out" speech ![(rofl)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/rofl.png)

Dr Doom is my least favorite, by far, of all time.
I know it's hyperbole but it feels like every time he gets stopped "it was just a Doom Bot" or "ME SO SMART I PLANNED ON YOU STOPPING ME"
Go away.

Jessica Cruz. Every anxiety disorder possible just to make her comparison with Simon Baz all the more impressive when she can do all the things he can't.

Jubilee Cable Carnage (and all the other Symbiote characters besides Venom) Morlun/The Inheritors Sentry (though there's an awesome mini series called 'Age of the Sentry' that reimagines him as a 50-60s era Superman type. Kind of like what Alan Moore did with Supreme)
Not really a big fan of Deadpool and Thanos, but the movie versions are fun. And I never really liked the idea of the Green Lanterns until Grant Morrison's take on them.

It is so refreshing when Doom admits from the outset someone is dealing with a doombot.

I’m amused by how many people hate The Sentry. He’s one of my favorites.

Random thoughts on this... not a character but... I hate
when they try to push that Wolverine/Jean/Scott was a love triangle or that Wolverine and Jean had this great love...
it was almost always written that Wolverine was creeping on Scott's Girlfriend/Wife... and not at all reciprocated.
They've eased back on it a bit and even had references that it was this way but a lot of writers tried pushing that it was some great romance between the two...

Has Jean, even once, demonstrated interest in Logan in any kind of romantic or sexual way?

One of the biggest mistakes Marvel ever did was try turning Norman Osborne into a Lex clone. He was much more entertaining as a delusional, self-sabotaging nutbag. He works better as Spider-Man’s enemy rather than an Avengers-level threat, IMO. That said, I did entirely appreciate around the days of the Dark Avengers story arc the bit where Norman finally comes to blows with the Avengers and...he's a chump in comparison to them and shown to be woefully out of his league. Nevermind if I'm remembering correctly in the middle of it he has a Goblin related breakdown because he's being so outclassed by them and Thor & Capt and the like all kind of stop at one point and marvel at how pathetic he is as he sits in a heap near them. If you're going to put Norman in that type of role I think there's a clear distinction you need to make. He isn't Lex Luthor. He's MCU Justin Hammer. Just, you know, even more delusional and crazy.
