Two thumbs down from me. There's plenty of worse bands out there, to be sure. But Fall Out Boy just kind of rubs me the wrong way. The whole scene and the kids who are part of the scene irritate as well. To each his own, just don't think you're going to play Fall Out Boy around me without getting to hear about it.

I love them. They're catchy, write great lyrics, and just all in all they're a lot of fun. Infinity On High is a spectacular album.
I get a lot of crap for liking them...but oh well. I like what I like.

Wait, this Wentz guy isn't even the lead singer?
Why is he so famous then?

eh... I dislike Fallout Boy and their ilk because those bands make singing sad songs into a pathetic joke. it's true. you can't write a sad song or poem without being called "emo" now and that just makes it harder for someone like me, who appreciates the beauty of depression (yes, i do think so, in fact I'm even gonna have an appreciation thread about it!) to be able to write about something genuine because people just pass anything depressing off as a big joke. plus the rediculously pretentious and melodramatic attitude of emo kids who have nothing real to be upset about pisses me off to no end.

The man's voice makes me want to rip his throat out. The song titles are so damned long that you can practically _smell_ his smugness at how clever how thinks he is coming from them.
Put me in line for punching him in the face. But I get to be first to rip his throat out.

Ugh, Bands have done what they do before them, and bands have done what they do better then them. They really just kinda piss me off and not in a good Outbreak kinda way, but in a person with a high pitched voice poking me over and over again in the head yelling loudly "I'm not annoying! I'm not annoying!" kinda way.
That and I find it really funny what emo is now because none of these kids have heard of husker du or Indian Summer. Instead they play cure songs on a distorted guitar and call it a day.

Husker du never really did, but indian summer would only do it as a pay off for a big build up.. They would play like 3 min of a really soft yet haunting melody and whatnot then boom rip off your head. It was fun.

Hate to bring this up again, but I really, really get tired of the word "emo"...a lot. I'm so sick of it being hurled around as an insult.
If you don't like music, fine, but is there any reason to insult anyone else's taste? Nope.
And for the record, mcmahonfan...that song is godawful, and is NOT emo.

Eh, they're alright. Haven't heard anything from them that would be considered "emo", though. They do dress in a way most closely associated with the fad of annoying whiny brats, but I wouldn't consider them to be that way. But yeah, they're okay.

The singer's voice is also the epitome of "whiny", IMO. MAKE HIM SING THROUGH A TRACHEOTOMY VOICEBOX

I really wouldn't like to call them an emo band either because then i'd have to start blaming Fugazi, Mineral, Embrace and Heroin and all sorts of other actually-decent emo bands for spawning this crap.
Whiny bratty crap that's somehow perpetually popular, when Nu-Metal rightfully crawled back under it's rock after six months

Ehh, I don't really see how they're whiny, personally. But that's me.
As I said, I dig them, but that's just me. And they're FAR from emo. They're pop rock. That's about the extent of them.
*shrug*
I just don't understand why everyone has to go around hating on everyone else's taste in music. It gets kinda frustrating.

I guess the world just unanimously agrees they're not as good as Elvis. I wouldn't worry about it.

Would i punch Pete Wentz in the face though? You damn right. Why? Put me in line for punching him in the face. But I get to be first to rip his throat out. Once again, WHY? If there's worse music on record than Fall Out Boy then i've yet to hear it I despise Fall Out Boy, but Snow Patrol is worse. The Fray is right up there as well. Let us not forget Nickelback. For the love of god, let us not forget Nickelback. And for the record, I like Fall Out Boy. I think their music is catchy.
