Fact is, Kofi is getting less of a reaction now than when he was gunning for the belt. His title matches haven't been anything special, the crowds are getting progressively quieter during them, and ratings have fallen hard while he's been on top. I don't know how any that's measures as a successful run, unless we just want to cling onto some imaginary "brass ring" analogy. As much we may all like Kofi, this has not worked the way it probably could and should have. He’s been champ for 6 months. The journey is over, only the last month has there been a noticeable slip in crowd reaction

I don't really want another Lesnar title reign, but I think the WWE have run out of ideas on how to book Kofi's reign (if they ever had any to begin with.) Booking Kofi as champion is easy. Get him away from New Day and the damn pancakes. Let him a “Hey I’m the WWE champion! I need to take this seriously and the only way I can do that is to get away from you two!” moment. Sorry but the WWE champion shouldn’t be tossing pancakes to the crowd Man, this is the LAST place where "You should be Serious McGrumpypants!" has any shot to win the day. That s*** ruins lives and puts people in therapy.

KO attacked him and Xavier and he stopped playing nice. When Samoa Joe came down to talk shit, he stepped right in his face. When he beat everyone else and wanted to get that monkey off his back, he challenged Randy Orton The worst thing they could have did is Jack Swagger him which for the record I actually did like at the time, they just handled it all wrong

As much we may all like Kofi, this has not worked the way it probably could and should have. It's not the fault of Kofi that Bryan got injured and that cut short the feud. Also, not his fault that he was given Dolph Ziggler to work with after The Show off was given a storyline where the narrative was "this guy hasn't got what it takes anymore and the only reason he is at this level still is because of Drew McIntyre". He also had to feud with Kevin Owens, a dude booked into oblivion as a heel, and a choke artist in Samoa Joe.
This reign hasn't worked out like it could have, but a lot of that is due to his opponents.

I don't know why people are saying the reign was bad
The reign was really good. He had a bunch of different challengers and while the feuds weren't really main event level until Orton came, it showed Kofi can do it as the WWE champion, He was built as a credible chmapion, not a world beater. SD didn't have a ton of bodies for him to go through in a feud like an AJ Styles but his list of challengers and the fact his wins have been in contested matches in which he is the clear victor is a big plus in my book

They've all been routine Kofi matches, and the finishes pretty weak. I don't think it helps that his moveset sucks.

Match result does not negate the reign

Match result does not negate the reign Sure, fine, you're correct. But is DOES negate all the intelligence that we thought WWE booking had.

Match result does not negate the reign Yes, it very much does. Going from Bryan/Orton/Joe/Styles/Dolph etc (who, frankly, all carried Kofi like luggage) to being crushed in seconds to Lesnar made everyone who challenged Kofi let alone Kofi himself look like peons who can't hang with more domineering "real" characters that exist outside of their bubble. Conveniently, most of the guys Kofi had beaten had also been crushed by Lesnar What's worse is this wasn't even the first time Kofi had been squashed by Lesnar, only the last time he looked far more 'competitive' and lasted longer.

Why can't Brock be involved in non-title feuds anymore? Its dumb. They keep putting belts on him for no good reason simply because they cannot imagine him not being in a title match.

Your now former WWE champion: more capable of fighting Brock as a comedy midcarder on a house show three years ago than he is now.
