Seth Rollins easily.
Roman could have been a good top guy as he has star quality but was booked horribly and given shitty material so the fans turned, creative didn't help Diesel either but him and HBK had presence and charisma.
Seth is the guy who works with the top guy.

Seth. Match-wise he's about equal with Roman since both are beholden to the WWE house style, and on an objective level Roman was on top for a lot longer and the level of hatred he received was far, far worse. But Roman, even in his worst interviews, never came off like an emo bootlicker dork the way Seth does, and has a natural cool factor about him that Seth has never, and will never, have. I could buy Roman as the top guy if they booked him right, which they sporadically did. I could never buy Seth as the top guy now matter how he was booked.

Rollins has to win this by default since ratings have been dropping harder and faster than ever with him as the lead.

If they carry through with the current booking, the answer could be Drew McIntyre in about 5 years.
But for now, Seth. I like him but he's why too much of a natural (and actual) prick to be "The Guy"

In terms of my enjoyment? John Cena. The guy was UNBEARABLE from 2007-2013. Now? I’ve become a fan of his. Probably because he’s no longer unbeatable and is actually booked like a human being now. His US Title run with the Open Challenges kinda swayed me. He can put on some amazing matches with the new guys. I also enjoy his movies. In terms of how a top guy should act and represent the company etc? It has to be Rollins. The guy is a PR disaster and needs to stay off social media. But I love the guy and his matches. So I can’t say he’s the worst. I felt the same way about Cena. There were several years where he was a channel changer to me. It was the US title gimmick and especially his movies that have made me see him in a new light. I really enjoy his movies so much more than I’ve ever enjoyed his wrestling.

I assume this is only top faces.
Also Roman for me, dude is a midcard talent. At least Rollins is much more interesting in the ring and can play a great heel.
Worst talent to be a top face is either Roman or Kevin Nash. Or Triple H if he counts but he never was THE top face.

Seth Rollins, and not because of match quality (Which has been stellar).
He's a butthurt little diva, who can's stand the fact that people are allowed to have opinions about things, and especially opinions abut him that aren't positive.
He can't take criticism and every negative comment about WWE, he takes as a personal attack as though everything in WWE is about him, as opposed to differentiating criticism of his work, and criticism of the state of the company at large.
Not to mention he takes praise for other companies as a personal affront, instead of acknowledging that people can like more than one thing. He also decided that it's a good idea to talk down to talents who the moment they become free agents WWE will bend over backwards to sign.
In short, the primary role of the face of the company isn't just about what he does on the shows or in the ring, but also representing them outside of it, and while Seth's been handed a failing product, his conduct only serves to alienate fans.

Triple H or Nash. Triple H starting every show with a 20 minute promo, never getting what it meant to be a heel and making the babyface look good, and just really not fitting the bill as a top guy.
Nash/Diesel was pretty lousy in the ring and was blessed with being very tall. Otherwise, he was a mid card guy who wouldn’t have caught Vince’s eye otherwise.
Both of them benefited from getting themselves over with Vince more than the audience.

I never understand why HBK is even considered for these kind of poll's even though he wasnt a great draw (and thats just due to the business as a whole at that time) he had a slew of great opponenst to work work and often produced some awesome work. He went from Diesel to Bulldog to Vader to Mankind to Sid, all the while taking the title from Bret and also working with people like Goldust on the house show loop.

It's Bob Backlund. Now he was an amazing wrestler, but people were really getting tired of his bland persona, and promo's a couple years in. He benefited by having a pretty strong undercard, and the addition of the IC title.

Still Roman to me, but goddamnit if Rollins isn’t giving his all at a serious run for his money. He’s still got time to pass him by.
Can’t believe how stubborn this stupid company is with their “chosen ones” flopping.
