205 LIVE STAR REQUESTS WWE RELEASE By Mike Johnson on 2019-11-16 17:02:00
Oney Lorcan, aka the former Biff Busick, requested a WWE release at the end of last month, PWInsider.com has confirmed with multiple sources.
Lorcan, who teamed with Danny Burch in WWE NXT and 205 Live, has not yet been granted his release.
Lorcan was signed by WWE in September 2015 after strong runs in EVOLVE, Beyond Wrestling and CZW, among other companies.
Lorcan has resorted back to his former ring name, Biff Busick, on social media.

Seriously, the f*** is going on right now?
Even with the new options around now and other controversies, there really shouldn’t be a good reason people should be wanting to leave the biggest wrestling company in the world if it has the means to fix some of the problems it has.

WWE continues its descent into vintage TNA territory.
Everything is op, Morale is high.

Does anyone know how, out of all the wrestlers in the world, Biff Busick got on WWE's radar to begin with?
I, by no means, am discrediting Oney's talent, but I always found it such a strange signing, given Busick's look doesn't scream WWE superstar.

Wrestlers are willing to bet on themselves
AEW as well is not the only game in town since they are snatching up people as well. Opportunities is open around the indies and international and people want that shit and I can't blame them

I thought dude was in a fine place he seemed like a top talent on 205 and was a solid guy in NXT with that tag team of his.
Morale is through the roof...it has to be because Oney was always pointing up

They have too many people on the roster and some aren't content with just collecting a pay check.

Busik is lefit one of the best wrestlers going today. He knows how to tell an amazing story in ring and is an all around amazing crazy personality in the ring, and WWE has barely used him since he's been there, so this doesn't shock me whatsoever.
WWE needs to trim the fat, seriously. They already have a handful of guys who want out, they can't be afraid to let people go with the growing alternative scene or it's gonna look worse and worse.
I wanna see my boy Star Destroyer get the opportunities he deserves, be it AEW or anywhere else, he will have people wanting him on every roster.

Out of all the people who’ve asked for their releases, possibly besides Luke Harper, Lorcan was a guy who, by all accounts, was in a good spot. He seems to be a big part of the new 205 Live, he’s in enough big tag team matches in NXT and there’s no reason to think he and Burch could have gone to Raw or Smackdown and had that aspect utilized (I know I know but in a perfect world) For him to ask for his release? That seems crazy to me.

I was up close to the ring when he was putting on pure grappling magic with Timothy Thatcher last month. That was pure Biff Busick like I used to know him, and I think that match may have lit a spark under him that there's more out there than what his current contract can provide him.

Even with the new options around now and other controversies, there really shouldn’t be a good reason people should be wanting to leave the biggest wrestling company in the world if it has the means to fix some of the problems it has. I mean, if you seen an episode of RAW/SmackDown/etc. in the last year, like, there's no light at the end of the tunnel for the foreseeable future. Unless you're in the tippy top tier of the company it doesn't matter how hard you work, how over you get, none of it. There's no reward for working hard. And if you're a 205/NXT guy, you're probably not even getting paid that well overall, so even if you're being booked well by some miracle, you're not being treated well for it. You get one shot at a push in WWE, if you're lucky, and if you don't hit a homerun (and in some cases even if you do), welcome to the infinite plateau, there's no rising here.

He wants more or just a different setting I would assume You don't really have to be in a bad spot to ask for a release, sometimes whatever the case may be you just want to try something different.

Oh no, I do understand it might simply be just that. Like I said, it’s just more like all these releases coming out one after another, it’s not a good look regardless of reasoning. And it all feels like another “chickens come home to roost” thing that feels like what 2019 in WWE has been.

I mean we can't really put it all in one reasoning in why their is a bunch of people willing to leave but if you're WWE you have to look at this as a sign of fixing shit/a sign Some people want to leave due to frustration, others due to opportunity elsewhere, etc.. As I said while AEW is a form of competition, that doesn't mean people are automatically going there. People forget that AEW is signing up guys exclusively too. So, the indies are getting some open space and you can rebuild your name out there. Wrestling is expanding and while AEW and WWE are the two big games in town, you still have NJPW going to make its presence over here and Impact is also an option. The latter two, you should be able to work indies and still do things with them Freedom is at a premium right now. Wrestlers want the ability to decide their own fate

A shame. I enjoyed his team with Danny Burch, though I thought that Danny overshadowed him on many occasions.
A change of company might do him some good.
