I really don't see how people watch this guy operate and listen to the things he says about this and doesn't think he's an absolute incompetent moron. I mean, you'd have to be a zealot. His mishandling of it, and stubbornness in admitting how poorly this has been, and continues to be, handled is endlessly frustrating. It's insane that the government hasn't just cut him off from speaking everyday. He's a loose cannon who is stopping just short of inciting another civil war. He's literally calling for states to be "liberated" on Twitter; we're there right now. And like, there's always going to be the extremist nutjobs and conspiracy folks screaming about revolution and lizard people. The problem is, the most powerful man in the free world is openly endorsing them. I’m not going to really get into it because it doesn't really deal with the current situation but Google is your friend. It’s not surprising the little vitamin shilling prick is doing the presidents dirty work with protesting. I hate to see a state become our testing ground for opening early but Texas is probably gonna be it.

The thing that frustrates me about the people protesting their Governors who want to open the economy right now is that the moment things go pear shaped, they'll be the first to blame those same Governors along with everybody else.

There's people who are going stir crazy at home, losing their jobs, falling behind on their bills who have legitimate gripes, they're scared.
Then there's the Alex Jones crowd who just thinks contrails are mind control chemicals. Politicians are lizard people and theres global initiative to have us all be subservient to a small group of families who pull the strings of everything that goes on in this world.

As much as I joke about lizard people, I think Jones and his ilk are more dangerous than that. Look at his recent history and now he’s helping fuel protests. People are going to die because of this guy.

I have a lot of friends that play on Zalera and one took pictures of the funeral procession in-game.

If the protesting was just people who have lost jobs, money, homes, etc, then I could at least understand it. Frustration in that scenario would be understandable. Unfortunately I don't think that is what the protesting is about. Somehow it has turned into a question of freedom and liberation, ignited by the president, so these protests are just going to grow and spread, much like the virus we are all trying to get rid of.

There are anti-lockdown protests being held across the US and even here in Canada. This just...it both angers and befuddles me. Paranoia and misinformation are dangerous enough individually, but together, they can prove to be lethal. I'm hoping the people involved in these protests either spontaneously develop common sense, or, in the worst-case scenario, I hope local authorities can take whatever measures are necessary to protect the public, up to and including arrest. And I will guarantee you there is nothing grassroots about it. Nor that many of those folks are anywhere close to being part of those who are facing the economic impact of this.

Jones should be rotting in a jail cell for the rest of his life for the hell he put Sandy Hook families through. But no, he's got a friend in the highest place so, that'll never happen.

Speaking strictly from the people in my area but there is almost no middle ground with how people want go forward with the reopening of the state (though our governor really hasnt given an idea yet on when reopening will happen). Reading between the lines I think we will likely see our stay at home order extended 2 weeks to mid may and see a slow opening of businesses but u also think a lot of this is pending on the next 2 weeks.
Oddly enough I feel those who want to open were put over the edge by the mandate if wearing masks if going into a business.
Either way I still see a lot of positive things going on.

My state is run by idiots, and full of idiots. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the big surge in South Dakota's numbers came from that Smithfield plant? And prior to that SD's numbers were relatively low. When you look at it from a percentage standpoint it looks awful, but in reality I think the actual number of infected people is still relatively low. It's relatively low in most of the state, but the main hot spot is the two counties that Sioux Falls is in, Minnehaha and Lincoln. And the Mayor of Sioux Falls was asking the governor to put a shelter-in-place for just those two counties. And of course, she said no. And some of the stupid things people have said around here still make me think this state's full of idiots.

I get the genuine unrest. Hell, I've been feeling it the past week or so of just daydreaming about sitting in a restaurant and having food served to me. I miss just the freedom to go to a casino or a bar. I've said it before in the previous thread, I am 35 years old, in good overall health, and have no underlying conditions. The distancing isn't to benefit me. It is to benefit people like my mom who is 74 with diabetes and high blood pressure. It is for my best friend's dad who has a history of cardiac issues. I stay at home not because I like to or that I'm an introvert. I stay at home because I couldn't live with myself if I thought I gave this to them or god forbid, killed them with it.
What we have here is a bunch of uneducated f***sticks who think this is all just a conspiracy to take their wealth and freedom. You know the wealth that exists only in their minds. Who is behind the conspiracy? Who knows? I'd at least respect them if they could come up with a coherent theory.
I am still maintaining that a lot of this could be alleviated if we just had testing, specifically antibody testing. I'm still of the opinion that the bug I had almost two months ago could have very well been this virus. I haven't had something knock me on my ass like that in years. I do believe that the science backs up the fact that you have immunity after being infected (otherwise this is just the baddest mf'er ever) to a large extent. IF we can get that testing in place, that allows so much more data modeling and opening of certain areas based on those results.

Firstly given the online chatter about it the numbers at these protests are very unimpressive, most I've seen was one with barely a 100, in a country with the population of the states that's statistically insignificant, its a sign the lockdown is popular (as they are all over the world it appears) and maybe people who'd otherwise be sympathetic to the cause are more scared of the virus than anything else.
Secondly, I usually don't care what such people think, everyone's entitled to an opinion but celebs (and really anyone who comes from money) really need to pipe down on this. Whether the middle aged woman waving her flag is a bad faith actor, one of those brainwashed Q people or a nice lady who is simply terrified that the savings run out next week and the freezer is empty we simply don't know but the optics of people from mansions who will never miss a meal going off on them is awful and really not helping. I haven't seen the rich sneer at the poor so much since the fall of 2016, does anyone remember what happened then?

To be fair, there's like 12 people between Sioux Falls and Rapid City and most of them are in Chamberlain.

Yeah like, nobody wants this. Nobody wants theaters to be closed, bars to be closed, businesses to be closed. Shit, I need to have a surgery and can't get it right now because it's considered elective.
Do these people think we'd be doing this shit if it wasn't for the highly transmittable virus you can carry without showing any symptoms?

Forgive me, it's been almost 20 years since I've been in SD. We'd always stop the family car in either Mitchell or Chamberlain for the night.
