I don't like Super Cody either but that variant hasn't returned, yet (and hopefully won't any time soon). I do wish the TNT Championship was being carried by someone else, but hey, it is what it is. Orange didn't lose clean or shake Cody's hand, so I'm happy.

Got to love a post that says anyone with a different opinion on the matter is “blind.” Really opens the whole thing up for a fun and engaging conversation. And a good way to get their account suspended, too.

Haha, I guess what I meant is more in regards to his presentation. Didn’t try to call out anyone. I just don’t see how anyone can look at Cody in AEW and his whole existence since the company started and not be taken back . Apologies for anyone who felt offended. I’m just over it. He’s a good worker and all that but he’s not Ric Flair 2k20 Man I wanna see the match where Ric Flair did a top rope Ace Crusher, that sounds dope as hell.

These threads are cringe. If you don’t like Cody, don’t watch Cody. For what it’s worth, I think he’s subtly trying to be increasingly insufferable each week for the incoming heel turn.

I was once told in another Cody thread if I didn’t like Cody I could GET OUT.
I don’t have much to say about my opinion of Cody that hasn’t been been said in other threads. People are going to have different opinions and opinions change. He might win me over one i day, I will say I enjoyed the dog collar match.
But seriously though his tv title matches with Warhorse, Kingston, and the Private Party dude, three weeks in a row all booked the same way with them injuring them their knee halfway through. He didn’t think anyone would notice. I did Cody.

My girlfriend and I hate Cody. We are beyond over him. Every week i looks forward to rooting against him; tonight we were rooting especially hard. Which is why, objectively, Cody is great at being a pro wrestler. The dude gets it in a way few do.

I just miss his blonde hair. It’s back, baby. What was the point of the brown hair for 2 weeks?

What was the point of the brown hair for 2 weeks? Doing the “heels” show with Stephen Amell.

I'm not sure if we're going to get a heel turn. I don’t know, in its existence thus far AEW has never done anything that wasn’t calculated and consequential. One of the things I love about AEW is that it has its finger on the pulse of its fan base, more so than any other wrestling promotion I’ve ever followed. AEW is well aware that some people are souring on Cody and that he’s starting to draw HHH comparisons. But, despite that, they’ve been really leaning into it with the elaborate entrances and pyro, the dramatic promos, the posse of sycophants who are always with him. And, subtly, it’s gotten just a tad more pronounced each week. I don’t think AEW would position him in a match at the anniversary show against arguably its biggest breakout face, Orange Cassidy, and tease an oncoming feud with arguably its other breakout face, Darby Allin, without at least trying to put Cody in the position to be a tweener. If we end up with an OC/Cody/Darby feud, Cody’s definitely the heel there. I don’t doubt that it could all end with Cody going back to the less exaggerated version of himself and fighting against Team Taz or something as allies with Darby and OC, but I do think he’s positioning himself to play heel/tweener for his next couple of feuds.

What was the finish to Cody vs. Orange, did he Triple H him or something?

O the move that Cody has done for 10 + years and a trademark ™️ n terms of his move set. I guess I just thought it was one of the “cool Indy moves” Cody now randomly uses. I’m waiting for the “nightmare destroyer” to become just a regular move in his move set. Before he does it though, all the lights have to go out, the pyro goes off and kids has to blade before he hits it

I thought this to several weeks ago because the cringe is out of control...but the “I bleed baby face red white and blue” promo from last week made me doubt that.
