I mean, wrestling is a story telling medium. Saying enough with stables is like saying "enough with people having friends" on any other TV show

How many members do you need before you go from an alliance or a team to a faction? A team is a fraction of a faction

I love the stables. It makes for dynamic storytelling where what could be a throwaway match between 5 and Blade for instance all of a sudden has greater ramifications.

I think the important thing with AEW is that the factions have a fluidity to them. Nobody is completely beholden to the group they're in, and across the time the company has told stories, we've seen major changes in alignment, seen turns, but also seen people just drift away from groups. Kingston's group lost some members, feuded off of it a bit, then ultimately dissolved and everyone went off to different shit. One of the biggest marks of New Japan's faction booking is the stratification of these big groups that don't change very often; each faction has one person at a viable world title level, then one guy who's a viable IC title contender, then there's the main tag team, some groups have extra fall guy tags, they have their juniors ace but then they often have backup jr heavyweight. And things are going to shift at a very slow pace, leaving little room for people to really escape those roles. Nothing feels as set in stone in AEW. Some groups are fluid enough, like the Dark Order, to not even really feel stratified. Hell, the group the company is named after has itself dissolved.
I love the stable-based booking, and I think they approach it with the right dynamic to hit weekly American-style wrestling programming.

I think the real problem is lack of horses... why have so many stables if you don't have horses to store! ... That is what we are talking about right?

I do not really mind, but limit the 'anyone can be at ringside' element of it. The heels constant wins from their friends being on the outside is getting serious old hat. Especially when they do it on PPV. The Stables must be paying a fortune in managerial license fines >_>

It's a huge benefit with no/few fans, having stablemates around ringside adds some energy.

I mean it would be one thing if this was leading to survivor series or WAR GAMES.
At this point I’m expecting Christian to come out wit Archer and Bear Country and call themselves The Peeps

We've seen multiple blow-off matches on varying levels of scale for these factions. And if anything, I think the storytelling is way more meaningful when factions are factions on a normal day than the ways WWE has ever built Survivor series.

There should be a regular segment with Mox's analysis of every stable and their dynamics. Or maybe YouTube videos for new viewers where he narrates each stables history.
They're genuis, serve as a recap, address complaints, provide comedy and an insight to his psyche. They just work on so many levels.

It’s wrestling the entire point of wrestling is for people to have enemies not friends.
And I you don’t follow Dark some of these groups look like the NWO B-team or the JOB Squad.

It’s wrestling the entire point of wrestling is for people to have enemies not friends. That has never been a central conceit to pro wrestling and is also really lame storytelling. That's not even true in WWE where they seem allergic to making dudes have meaningful relationships with other dudes.

It’s just less Scooby Doo and more like Wacky Races.. At this point idk what your goal is in this thread but in just about any form of media alliances are formed to try and get ahead, whether they are formed in true friendship, to reach a common goal, or try and get ahead by using other people to achieve your goals. Wrestling is one giant lion pit, and always has been. Yes there are plenty of people who dont like each other, but because of the amount of high calibiur talent in AEW, let alone that high calibur talent that is alligning itself with other high calibur talent, forming teams or factions to get stronger is absolutely logical. Especially when it's for common interests to crush other talents, like HFO being formed by Hardy to both get himself into the spotlight and try and snuff out other factions (Dark Order/Hangman) and even setting eyes on gold (Darby's TNT Title) Even lesser factions make sense when you look at it in how the stories have progressed. Pretty Peter Avalon solo got his ass kicked by Cody, Ryan Nemeth Solo got his ass kicked by Hangman and PAC, Bononi didn't have a job, and JD Drake was trying to get signed. Peter now has an alliance which has allowed all of these guys to pick up wins in some form, they've lost as well, but with the likes of JD Drake getting TNT Title shots and Bononi getting on Dynamite, in kayfabe it shows the benefits of even lower end factions in the company. Some will gravitate towards one another, some will break apart, some will change, some may even grow. Stables are a fun aspect of wrestling, and AEW makes me actually pay attention to so many members of the roster both high and low on the card because of it. It's so much fun to see alliances form to me, I understand it may not be to everyone, but I can't get enough of this stuff, and it never feels overwhelming.
