I agree on the fact that you sign a paper and not promised anything
It depends on the mindset tho. Breeze was clearly just happy being there and I been saying that for years and good for him for just wanting the check. Some want more. Do people complain when they shouldn't? Sure
Overall I get the message but also one of those things where that's just not for everyone either. Breeze was clearly in i'm going to ride the wheels off this bitch until they fire and eventually that's what happened

Doesn't look like he's changed much from this tweet around the time he wasn't being used well on Smackdown:

That's fine and all, except there are notable examples of talents trying to get out of the WWE and being told no over and over and over and over and over, even having their contracts extended because they had time out due to injury. If anyone the WWE wanted to keep just up and quit, they would find themself forced into signing noncompete clauses the way Brock Lesnar did, and in most cases, they won't be in the position he was financially where he could lawyer up and fight it. If say, Seth Rollins decided he wanted to leave tomorrow, there is zero chance he would be able to do so without signing away much of his ability to make momey in wrestling for some time.
Breeze may have been happy sat collecting a paycheque, but there are guys like Brodie, FTR and so on who weren't but had no choice to stay because they signed a deal, expecting to be used to the best of their abilities and had the rug whipped out from beneath them because Vince found newer toys, didn't like the fact they couldn't do a southern accent or just wanted to put them in a comedy gimmick for his own amusement with no regard for their prospects.

🤷🏾‍♂️ Mans kept it a buck.
He knew the deal, he knew his value in the grand scheme. It’s one thing if you actively want to get on the court but if you understand that your spot is just to be a bench player (who’s not even in the rotation most nights) so shut the f*** up and collect the check, that can be pretty freeing mentally. That’s what it actually means to treat the business like…a business. “Y’all ain’t bout to drive me crazy over this nonsense”

"Just quit" doesn't work when your boss literally tells you "f*** you, no, see you Monday." and dresses you up like a Doctor Seuss character. He's fine where he is? Cool. Telling it to someone else is just ignorant.

This is why I don't give a shit about how wrestlers are booked.
Because many of them don't seem to care. They are just happy to be working. So fair enough.
I encourage other fans to adopt my approach. If you don't like the product, just switch off. It's not worth the time.

It you don’t like your job, you don’t strike, just go in and do it really half-assed. That’s the American Way!

Nice to know that all my anger about a guy not being pushed to at least IC/US level was almost entirely misplaced on someone literally “just being happy to be there”. And yet the same people who complain about this don’t understand why this mentality seems to annoy Vince.

He might have a point if people actually could quit. But they can't. So he doesn't.

remember when Brodie just quit? how long did that take to work out? Hey, remember the time Rey was going to leave until he found out he actually had months added on because of injuries and time off accumulated from that? Good times.

Didn’t read every post, hope I’m not covering something already said, but Tyler has always been pretty open about the $$$ being more important then creative to him.

I think that attitude flies a bit better if you’re Lesnar or Goldberg, where you can make Vince money at the same time. Tyler Breeze probably didn’t create enough cash for Vince to accept the “I’m here for the paycheque” attitude.

It you don’t like your job, you don’t strike, just go in and do it really half-assed. That’s the American Way! You go in, you stink up the joint with craptastic matches using endless rest holds and repeat until Vince's head explodes. Then repeat. What's he gonna do - fire you? Just botch the shit out of everything until Maffew has to start another three YT channels. The highest-paid pro wrestlers on the planet performing in the ring like two 18-year-old curtain-jerkers at a high-school gym show who'd just finished setting up the ring and _might_ get a hotdog at the end of the night.

Tyler Breeze makes a good point unintentionally.
While many rightfully blame the WWE for the many problems with their product over the years. People don’t blame the many wrestlers just showing up to get their check like Breeze did.

Honestly at the current moment he's probably right. Two or three years ago when they refused to release anyone then yeah that would be a really stupid statement. However at the moment they are cutting wrestlers like crazy so if you ask for your release you'll most likely get it. If you aren't happy and don't think you are getting a fair shake and your confident that you can do better and be happy somewhere else then quit. Now's the chance to do it.

People don’t blame the many wrestlers just showing up to get their check like Breeze did. Everyone's going to have a different list but how many recurring Top 10 Problems With WWE would even be impacted by wrestlers who don't care to rock the boat and are happy just to get paid doing what they love? I don't know what we'd even really be blaming them for. At least in Breeze's case, I can't say he's ever come off as super lazy and detached when he works. He's a very fine wrestler who puts in the effort.
