Samoa Joe Doesn’t See the Benefit of the Forbidden Door: “I work for a company. If I played for a major football club, you wouldn’t lend me out on the weekend to go play for the rival team. Messi’s ain’t doing day shifts over at Manchester United.”

Eh, he's not wrong for feeling that way. But I'd think it's pretty exciting for the fans.

I agree with him to an extent
But it all depends on circumstances. So fat there has been a nice balance tho AEW clearly has gotten the better end of the stick in this "forbidden door" phase and f*** it good for them for being smart

It’s a good idea for Joe to compare WWE workers to actual employees at football clubs that can sign external sponsorship deals with other companies and get transport and healthcare paid for.

Eh, he's entitled to his opinion. But it's pretty exciting if you're a fan. He's also a dumbass because soccer is the worst example since they loan players all the time and on top of that he worked with Liger and Kobashi back in the day through this literal same policy.

It's his opinion, I feel him. I personally don't agree but it depends on the purpose. So far they've done well with this type of thing but who's to say it'll continue to be great? We'll have to wait and see.

I mean, he does have a point, but at the same time when it isn't really a real sport, and every show just needs to be an event as part of a bigger story, having someone 'visit' or crossover from another show can boost a rating and drum up interest.
There are definitely pitfalls, and the way Omega has had to drop the Impact title which has then knocked (for me anyway, and I know that isnt the case for others) his story with whomever takes the AEW title, is definitely the biggest one of sharing championships - but as a 'OMG, what is that person doing here!' storyline, it's a great idea just the same as it was when Superman and Spider-Man met or when TV show A characters show up in TV show B.
It all comes down to what you want from your show, and indeed, the writing around what happens.

This is just Joe being afraid of having the Impact Ninjas kidnap him again.

He's also a dumbass because soccer is the worst example since they loan players all the time and on top of that he worked with Liger and Kobashi back in the day through this literal same policy. Also a good point. Football clubs loan out young players to lower level (or lower than them) clubs to get playing time. These days in wrestling, if you have signed talent that is basically spinning it's wheels, especially if it is young, green talent, why not "loan" them out to other companies to get ring time, especially if they aren't getting ring time (or TV time, which may be more important in the current scheme of things) currently. I see why WWE wouldn't want to do it since they want things done THEIR way and letting talent go to smaller indies could/would teach them "bad habits".

It just reminds me of all those super shows in the 80s where everyone banding together against a super power company makes them all feel likes smaller parts by sharing space. Although, in this case, it feels like AEW and their friends.
Also, the Japan joint shows where streaming and home video rights are confusing as hell for who owns what and what’s parts of which shows are legally available to sell.

I, too, hated when ROH brought in guys like Muta, Kobashi, KENTA, Kojima, and Dragon Gate talent and also let their guys get tours in Japan. And don't get me started on TNA partnering with NOAH and letting their guys hold tag gold. WOOOOF.

I do not completely disagree with mindset but I am more so of the mind that the more often it happens the less special it begins to feel it is why something like ECW "invading" WWF in 96 was wild because it felt like this major event instead of just ECW guys coming in and constantly doing one offs and going back and it eventually becomes the norm.
And maybe that is the whole point that Khan wants to make this the norm but to me I prefer the occasional very surprise crossover instead of waiting on the next one you know is happening.

It's interesting that despite being in Forbidden Door country, his old buddy CM Punk said just about the same thing: he's here to be an AEW guy, and he'll play ball if the boss wants him to go somewhere else, but he doesn't have eyes anywhere else.

That's kinda a stooge answer. That stuff is going to ramp up as the WWE is more willing to fire people. For a long time Reigns and Rollins were about the only guys that would do the company stooge stuff.. Now you got fired guys like Tyler Breeze doing it.

I agree with Joe. Far as I'm concerned if I want to watch an Impact guy I'll watch Impact.
