Even as someone who took way longer to give up on WWE than most, come on. Tony "gets it" way more than Dixie ever did. Tony Khan is also a wrestling fan who was part of the tape trading scene in the 90s, had his billionaire dad take him to a show at the ECW arena show for his birthday as a kid and followed the independents and Japan while working for Fulham, the Jaguars, and his sports analytics business... hell dude only hired Orange Cassidy when he found out he was Fire Ant in CHIKARA and that popped him. Dixie? She legit thought that if you were on TV that made you a big star. She also eventually wanted to become a TV star herself.

I'm pretty sure these were the views a while. I bet they don't feel that way now if they have any common sense.

Ditzy only ever used it as a vehicle to get herself a TV show to fan her ego, she filmed three pilots in an attempt for a network to pick her up and tried getting on Real Housewives as well.

Look, I was an Impact/TNA die hard from the beginning, up til Hogan ruined it for me. And I'm no AEW super fan, but it's become my preferred wrestling company since NXT became whatever the f*** Road Dogg did to it, and the crowds have come back. So it's beyond redundant to speak on how stupid the entire comparison is.
What I will say is (and it's no secret I loathe Vince McMahon) that I love that for years Vince has convinced himself that his way of wrestling is the right way, the ONLY way, and he's being proven wrong week by week, rating by rating, demo by demo in real time.
For a man who always think he's right, is never wrong, and anything bad is never his fault, this is glorious to watch.

I tried to go to a TNA show at the ECW arena once, with my then roommate. We got to Philly, but had to turn around and go home because of traffic and road closures.

In three years when WWE again gives up again on trying to avoid signing indy talent, they will throw a lot of cash at the "kids" AEW have built up in Jungle Boy, MJF, Sammy Guevara, and others. Will be the only way they can have stars. Will WWE even still be a wres--err, sports-entertainment company by that time? In 3 years? It is ludicrous to think otherwise outside of a sale and shutdown and I do not see anyone spending billions to shut it down...They are financially better off now than they have ever been. It's a great time to be a wrestling fan as well especially one that doesn't care about the "war" and just likes to see the crap fly

This doesn't surprise me. Alvarez would routinely say that he's heard from a lot of people in WWE who don't understand the appeal of AEW and think it's the drizzling shits. It is what it is. This is how they react to their competition. Even when WCW was beating them, they convinced themselves that it was solely because they "stole" their stars as opposed to an incredible storyline and a more modern show.

TNA never had ppvs do over 100,000 buys. AEW done it just about every time. TNA never had number ranked show on cable. AEW done it multiple times. TNA could never sell 4,500 to 5,000 plus for just about all of their random TV. Or 10,000 to 18,000 for big events like they consistently do. While Spike tv was decent network. TNA was never on equally big network with WWE in USA. Like AEW is with TNT/TBS.
Most importantly big stars and former World Champions. Like Dean Ambrose/Jon Moxley and Daniel Bryan/Bryan Danielson in primes. Didn't decide to leave WWE to go to TNA. I think people forget that guys like Angle and Jeff Hardy had bad drug problems. And left because they either didn't want to get clean like Angle or re-sign in Jeff Hardy. So he didn't have to take any drug test. We all see what happen with Jeff Hardy in match with Sting. While Angle had his dui issues in TNA. So top stars leaving because they think it's better company to work for. Well that's big difference.
Also even though Dixie had money and her dad was millionaire. They never had anywhere near funds Vince. Now you got AEW who's father has 3 times the money Vince has. Even with how much more money WWE making these days. Not to mention AEW on network that paid them 175 million dollars. TNA never had that type of income from Spike tv ever and AEW tv money will only likely to get much bigger. So it's great WWE wants to say this. But even those corporate ass kissers aren't really dumb enough to believe that. They will find out the hard way when it's time to negotiate new TV deals.

They probably meant Stunt, same team and hairstyle as JB so could get names mixed up if not paying attention and Stunt would get asked for ID in France (the shopkeepers over there sell booze and smokes to anyone who looks over 10).

According to Vince Russo, there was no TNA marketing department because all the money went on hiring big names.

According to Vince Russo, there was no TNA marketing department because all the money went on hiring big names. There are famous stories from AJ Styles, Kaz, and Daniel's on this. AJ talked about how they had a taping of Impact one night and the arena was right by the hotel. He was recognized by someone working at the hotel and they asked what he was doing there and he said Impact was at the arena and the hotel staff didn't know. Kaz and Daniel's were at a gym one day before Impact working out and were recognized and were asked why they were there when Impact was that night. They told the people Impact was in town neither of the people in the gym knew. Basically there was no promotion no nothing. Wrestlers were not asked to go on local radios or do promotional opportunities because Dixie thought word of mouth was enough

This is the kind of hubris WWE has that makes me want to see AEW kick them in the butts. Nevermind the fact AEW pretty much "won" the Wednesday Night Wars except for about 5 times. This was with NXT being a more established brand and a two week head start on AEW. It's really two different philosophies the companies have:
WWE runs away from the term "pro-wrestling"
AEW embraces it.
