So if we hear his name brought up in the next batch, at least this would be an amicable situation

1. Go through the proper channels, and social media is not in the top 5.
2. All the best, and well wishes as he's a very under utilized talent with alot of upside

Fly high, Ali. You deserve better than literally everything post black eye that killed your push and also clearly any future pushes.

WWE dropped the ball on him big time. He was never used to his full potential. He was relegated to Main Event, which don't get me wrong, he had awesome matches, but he should have been a bigger star. I have no problem with him leaving & being used better somewhere else.

He’d be a great get for Impact.

He’s a guy who can be a big success anywhere he wants to go. As an AEW fan, I’d want him easily, though I don’t know where he would fit. Though if he becomes available, you make a talent like him fit. But Impact would also be a great fit for him as well.

Very good news and hope they grant it to him as its clear they don't give a crap about him, he is going to be a great coup for any promotion!

I mean, I can't say I blame the guy. And it wasn't even like they couldn't do anything with him, having him be a minor PPV challenger to Kofi during his title reign would have at least made storyline sense with how it happened and him being added to Retribution lead to him doing all the storyline legwork with no real reward for it except Retribution never getting a PPV match as a stable.
I think the worst thing is that it isn't like the guy wasn't trying to do stuff, he was constantly doing promos on social media and using the time he had to get something going, it just never really benefited him as a talent. Which just boggles my mind, if you have a guy whose willing to try stuff, why wouldn't you want to do more with that? It doesn't make any sense.
And at this point, even doing GCW shows is a better showcase than Main Event, a show that has the same credibility as Jakked and Metal.

The only slightly surprising thing here is that Mace & T-Bar will likely have lasted longer than Ali in WWE (though given how WWE have been releasing people, possibly not that much longer).

I figured this would happen after they had him do that "oh so you hate me because you're a racist" promo.

I suppose I can't fault him, really. He's clearly tried to work with whatever they hand him, but they hand him less and less. I honestly think WWE should release him, since frankly, it's good for the budget, anyway.
"But what if someone who they have plans for demands their release?" If they have plans for them, what is the likelihood that happens? Virtually nil?

Mace hasn't appeared on TV since a battle royal back in November, not to mention was the lone guy on SmackDown who didn't appear on that Christmas episode. And he was once a TV commentator.

At this rate, Dijak and Dio might be in the next set of cuts. At this rate, anyone who vanishes for weeks are likely done.

Ali is a stand-up guy, he's proven that time and time again. I very much doubt WWE is hearing of his request for the first time through Twitter. I hope Ali gets his release and is able to achieve everything he wants to.

I cant blame the guy, but I believe they started big pushes for him several times, and he got injured just as he was about to take off each time.
He's using the same background there as the one he used to try and get Marvel/Disney to notice him for a part.
Maybe they did and WWE tried to block it, hence him talking about his dreams being bigger than pro wrestling.

That's sort of the issue, even if they have plans for people that doesn't really stop the penny pushers from considering them surplus to requirements. The fact they were willing to let Toni Storm leave was probably them going "I mean, she could be a future challenger for the title but on the other hand, it does keep us in the green" and the decision was made.

I mean, you knew where you could see Jakked or Metal. On the TV, doing wrestling stuff. Where is Main Event? Hidden away on the Network? It might as well not exist.

It likely fits more in the category of the former because it's very much an internationally aired TV show (even though having said that, BT Sport didn't get it when WWE moved from Sky so it's less of an international show, I guess).

If the off chance he did the right way and was being ignored, this move makes sense as it forces attention onto it.
