I figured this would happen after they had him do that "oh so you hate me because you're a racist" promo. Can't wait for the hot take pretzel that is "If people hadn't shit on this gimmick because SJW, they wouldn't have dropped it and he wouldn't have had to ask for his release, so this is really the smarks fault" to start popping up.

The only thing that sucks about this is that Ali would always donate the check he got from the blood money shows to charity or some other place where it could actually do some good in the world. Did he?? Damn, he really needs to get out of that morality cesspit that is WWE.

Don’t remember which one he did for Crown Jewel last year but I remember seeing the tweet saying he donated.

Count me in with everyone else that is only surprised that is took this damn long for him to ask for his release. Now I wanna know what they got on Cedric that he has not asked for his yet. Cedric has been trying to give away Funaki’s incriminating photos to no success….

Given his comments about Vince wanting to see him play a heel and him likely seeing Retribution, for whatever it was, as an opportunity to prove himself, the lack of anything manifesting ever probably made him realize how empty every promise he got was. He did the evil foreigner stuff he adamantly said he was never going to do, and tried his best to salvage those elements and subvert them, and in the end it went nowhere and meant nothing for him.

One of those guys I feel confident saying will absolutely be better off anywhere else, so hopefully he gets out on the indies. As mentioned, him at GCW, PWG and all the other spots will be great and he'd be worth adding to Impact or AEW.
re Retribution - there's still potential for that team, I can see big, big things coming. Lets wait and see.

At this rate, Dijak and Dio might be in the next set of cuts. At this rate, anyone who vanishes for weeks are likely done. T-Bar hasn't vanished at all. He's been on Main Event constantly having great matches. Case in point: his match with Tommaso Ciampa on this week's episode. I wouldn't fully call Main Event a safe spot either.

But yeah, it seemed like it was only a matter of time before he either jumped or got cut. Dude’s too strong in his moral fibre to accept just being FOREIGN HEEL LOL.
Mustafa Ali’s going to be an absolute pillar to any wrestling promotion that truly gets him.

What I found funny and also it being collosal big f*** you to the company...is that he asked for his release publicly on twitter.
This man completely understands how this company works he knows their PR image is everything to them so if they hold him hostage it is just gonna kick up one hell a storm.

It keeps his value up as there is no real way WWE can spin this like they been doing as him being difficult to work with. Even though they will damn sure try because they have to make sure they look like the good guys.

The WWE in a nutshell is to not use Ali correctly, constantly try to make him be a stereotype he doesn't wanna be...pull him when he gets tired of it...
While at the same time subjecting me to the same matches 209 times and pushing Madcap Moss...

Man does not seem happy.
Whatever he does, all the more power to him. Legitimately one of the most under utilized guys.
