It's a work, Jim. They're not booing the actual Ronda Rousey, they're booing whatever that character is. It's akin to a celebrity on Curb playing themselves, except much less well written. Cant we boo both? Booronda or Boorousey?

Ronda saying she can't handle fan criticism doesn't really help her case out much. She knows how wrasslin fans are. Fans are going to jump on that forreal and mind you we're just talking about up until WM. I'm going to assume that given next year they're penciling Becky/Ronda for WM, Ronda will be booed again as the big bad heel and Becky will already be back a face. Not sure how or when Becky will turn face (maybe after Bianca beats her ass hopefully) but it's an easy setpiece. It's like they're trying to get back on the road to that former WM by having Ronda get Charlotte outta the way (like she should have prior) and allowing this Becky heel turn to do it's thing before they try a redo.
It's like the whole "Roman needs that big WM match let's do another one" thing because they knew they fumbled the bag.

She really doesn’t get wrestling, does she? Like Kurt Angle went out there as “Kurt Angle”, but his character was olympic blow hard goof. Brock Lesnar goes out there as “Brock Lesnar”, but he plays himself as a character. Hell even most celebrities come in and are like “ok I’m in the wacky world of pro wrestling, let’s have some fun interacting with these characters”. I understand playing yourself, but in wrestling you have to immerse yourself in the show. Getting mad that your pro wrestling character is getting booed, even if it’s basically you, is just silly.

She's a 35-year-old woman who has coasted along on her MMA career. She wouldn't even be considered among the UFC's best-ever - she was a champion when women in MMA were just starting to make an impression and before the gyms were clogged with women fighters. When the best of those started making their way to UFC, Ronda simply couldn't keep up.
If she wants to be taken seriously, she needs a thorough training in _wrestling_, not sports entertainment. She is saddled with fan expectations that she can't meet because WWE, largely, can't produce top-quality talent in-house. Lesnar had the training before UFC and worked with some of pro wrestling's best workers. Ronda hasn't. If Nattie trains her, that's a good start - but I'd sooner if Bret were on hand to provide additional guidance.

I mean considering some of her statements I didn’t think she was the sharpest knife in the drawers so this just solidifies it Someone get her that dreams/reality aid that Father Dougal used in Father Ted

Like Ronda I've had issues in my life with social anxiety and just being a highly sensitive person, so I can understand her struggles. But she's really not meant to be a performer if stuff like that is going to continue getting to her.

The more I hear about Ronda, the more I am to believe she isn't thick-skinned enough for the spotlight; whether MMA, pro-wrestling, films, etc. If she isn't being praised constantly, then she lashes against her critics.

If you cant handle losing without wanting to kill yourself you probably should not be in a competitive sport. If you cant take being booed you should not performing in front of a live audience. Those are not problems to.be ashamed of and not a personal failing it is simply being realistic.

Actually watch it be Bayley or Sasha this time so they'll have something to do. If it were Bayley I'd root for her over all of em.

I have severe social anxiety too and a big fear of rejection that took years for me to overcome, including a complete meltdown when I was younger. And a abusive mother that hit me if I would get a single question wrong. I can sympathize but ot really isnt an excuse to be a shitty person or even to be a bad performer.

Count me in as another person with a toxic relationship with both failure and rejection. I fully understand what she means and where she is coming from.
However, if it’s that much of an issue, then she needs to spend more time in a therapist’s office instead of on a weekly national television show.
Know your limitations. It’s okay to not be comfortable and seek help when there are issues that need to be worked through. To try and force yourself to fight through something you’re not comfortable with is prideful, dumb, and will only make things much worse. But that’s all she’s ever known. Fight through it and f*** anyone who says otherwise. That will not end well. Trust me. I know.

A professional fighter wouldn't/shouldn't need pro wrestling training to learn how to not concuss an opponent. In amateur wrestling, you don't throw your opponents without regard for their safety, either. It's prohibited. Fights of course are more snug than training, but those who concuss you likely have weak nerves (which would bring us back to Ronda) or are knuckleheads (which would bring us back to Ronda). During a training drill, you get thrown around maybe ten times in thirtie seconds. One bad landing there is one too many and a sign of sloppiness.

What i miss? Ronda gave someone a concussion? She gave Alexa a couple concussions a few years back, IIRC. There was even talk about Alexa possibly retiring.

The difference being the Gracie was a part of a family that basically familiarized the world with Jiu-Jitsu. Ronda doesn't have that, but like Gracie, she got her status in MMA from basically being around in its infancy. As soon as women's MMA evolved, she was done. The same thing happened with Royce. He was still competitive, but was outclassed by more well-rounded fighters.

So for the March 5th MSG show it's advertised as having Ronda and Sasha vs Nattie and Charlotte. Not gonna be surprised if that's gonna be a tag match prior to WM.
I'm interested in how the crowd will react to her.
