Also shoutouts to 90s FMW crowds fighting eachother and shit cause Onita loved it. Imagine trying to watch wrestling and somebody starts kicking your ass. Also yakuza were frequently in attendance in FMW events (both during Onita's time and after), so some of those fights might have something to do with that.

Reminds me of someone, maybe Mike Awesome, doing a dive at a Yakuza-attended show and landing on Yazuka. He then locked himself in a room in the back after the match until he was assured they would not murder him for it.

from what I Remember, It was in Arkansas for some reason the crowd though it was Raw, when it was just a house show cause Raw was still taped like a week before. so they started throwing garbage and stuff into the ring. They were warned the main event would be cancelled if they kept it up. they presented Danny Hodge an award and the crowd booed the ceremony. there were mostly short matches, I think Rock and Taker had a quick one... DX started making their way to the ring for the main event and the audience threw garbage at them hitting Shawn who got on the mic saying they just lost their main event, and walked to the back refusing to wrestle. and then fights started breaking out in the crowds and then spilled out against the understaffed security team who eventually called the cops who showed up with full on tear gas and stuff to get them to calm down. from reports things thrown were papers, chairs, empty liquor bottles. You know a crowd's bad when 1997 HBK has the moral highground. shows the passage of time <_< I remember when people would call Shawn a primadonna for refusing to wrestle after getting hit with something >_>

He made the right call.

I'm just saying I Remember people using this as one of the stories that proved Shawn was a pain in the ass... when... no dude has every right to be pissed that they are throwing shit into the ringside area which can be dangerous as hell... especially when they start throwing bottles and chairs (granted that might have been AFTER he refused to wrestle but still) Shawn was enough of a shithead you don't need to look for more reasons to call him one is more my point I guess.

PWG crowds graduating to helping injure the wrestlers this year is a pretty impressive milestone in being the worst you can be. Don't forget the racial slurs yelled at Lio. there is a thread about the show on reddit and the people who were in attendance said it was the worst they've ever seen.

Apparently, there is a decent sized group of shitbags that frequent a lot of the LA indie shows that are responsible for a lot of that stuff. They've been a problem at the last couple GCW LA runs as well as PWG shows since the comeback. I don't know what it says that multiple promotions are having problems with what amounts to about a dozen people in total. There is one dude that I've noticed that gets really handsy with the talent when they enter, and was seen on camera blatantly groping Dark Sheik's chest during the October GCW show that wasn't Bloodsport.

I do know Awesome had some issues with them sometimes, too, but he'd have probably been more used to it during the "Gladiator" run.

That time CZW tried to have a moment of silence for Eddie Guerrero after his passing, and one guy audibly yelled "F*** THAT" and he basically almost got decimated by the entire rest of the crowd and the CZW locker room as security hauled his ass out probably saving him in the end. Same thing happened at an ECW show after Rick Rude's death. (only the aftermath is seen...if anyone knows what this woman actually said, LMK...) www.youtube.com/watch?v=unygrYimb64

Where was the crowd that was chanting something like "YOU SUCK DICK" to the Bellas? It was worse; it was a Bellas vs. Naomi and Nattie match where the chants were "You suck Cena/Bryan/Uso/Tyson". It was the night after Wrestlemania 31 and it was f***ing humiliating to witness as a wrestling fan. What's worse is I remember seeing people on Twitter and other areas online defending those chants. Unless my timeline is off, didn't this lead into the #GiveDivasAChance movement?

This was after the flashpoint match for that (a Bella Twins v Paige/Emma tag match that went only like 30 seconds without Paige even getting tagged in). But what it actually was in terms of historical significance… It was AJ Lee’s last ever match (Lee/Paige/Naomi v Bella Twins/Natalya). She retired literally days after this because of her neck problems.

I dont a lot of them started the rabid toxicity we have fanbases now. Every woman there was either a crackwhore or a slut, there were brutal to the talent, also they invented the "you f'd up chant" instead of being concerned for JT Smith

Maaaaan that stretch from like 2012 to 2016 where crowds were up their own ass and chanting 'we are awesome' was a bad time. Oh my god.

Unless my timeline is off, didn't this lead into the #GiveDivasAChance movement? This was a couple months later, like EoE said. Which is a good illustration of how some people are/were ready for wrestling to improve and for women to be treated better, and some are/were just f***ing pigs who didn't care and thought it was funny to insult women for having sex with their partners.

Wasn't there a crowd when someone brought a gun to shoot Bobby Heenan and/or Nick Bockwinkel?

I remember a story that Jim Corbett’s told that during the storyline where JYD was in the crowd sitting at ringside at the Superdome still blinded by some heels (can’t remember who), a fan with a gun saw the heels trying to beat up JYD. He told JYD that he has got them. The heels and JYD were now legitimately scared and didn’t know what to do until security came and apprehended the fan.

When I started going to live shows in the very early '90s, it was extremely common for the crowd to chant the gay slur F-word at heels, and more often than not, the babyface would really keep egging it on, with the heels playing it up by hugging their tag partner or manager.
I saw it done at indy shows as late as 2010, and I wouldn't be surprised if it still goes on.
