It doesn't really matter Smackdown is the realm of the magical misery tour. They don't need any one but jobbers so Roman can get his endless heat. Incredible

While this is a blow, this ins't a big blow I have consistently said I see the man as a really nice hand and a great tag team specialist but not really World Champ material. I have bought into the idea more when he had a good run beating Bryan and beating Seth at Mania. He has it in him to be World Champ but I wouldn't consider it a crime that he isn't either The guy should be a fixture, and should have been a mainstay in the upper and midcards, but the most he got were dangled carrots. I'm glad he got some legitimately fun tag runs, I just hope wherever he goes, I'd bet hard money on AEW given I'd be stunned if Khan wasn't a mark for Claudio given the era's he loves, he gets the shine he deserves. The dude could have some major runs left, and be in a good position to win plenty of titles solo or not, with old friends and new, and I am sure he's thought the same thing. This ain't a big blow to WWE because WWE also didn't position Cesaro to a point where it WOULD be a big blow... but man... Xavier Woods has almost no reason to f***ing stay here anymore let alone the rest of New Day. As others brought up in this thread, that's gonna be the major blow when the time may come... and I really feel like it is. Big E's world title fumbling felt like a last straw.

It may not be a big a deal as far as star power goes but with WWE's increasing depth issues this is IMO absoloutley huge because a talent like him that can work with anyone is never not hugely valueable.

Hey, he had a great, long run with HOF-level tag accolades, midcard title runs and tastes of the main event/upper midcard throughout. Not much to complain about there and don’t think there’s been much dropping of the ball with him at all.
Now he can move on and get some fresh opponents elsewhere. He’d be a good hand for a lot of companies. I have trouble thinking he’d be featured much more in AEW, and would be the same as he was in WWE as a tag team ace or upper midcard singles guy who shuffles from midcard to uppermidcard to an occasional main event. But at least there’d be more fresh opponents.

At his age I expected him to just retire there. Good for him for realizing his value and taking it elsewhere.

I kinda feel bad for Austin Creed/Xavier Woods. Only member of DaParty still in WWE.
What has the wrestler formerly known as Tyler Breeze been doing these days on that note?

Definitely. Say what you will about lost potential or whatnot, and it's all valid, but every wrestling roster worth their salt needs guys like Cesaro, someone who is a complete professional in every sense of the word and will give you his best effort no matter the kind of match, the length of match, where it is on the card, whatever. Even his apparent exit from the company was done with so little fuss, nobody even knew it was happening until it happened. Any time before say the last 20 years or so, there was no shame in being that guy.

I don’t see him doing much in AEW tbh. He’s a nice reliable hand but AEW already has enough of those.

He’ll probably be swapped in straight with Cody as they’re so similar (Cesaro a much better wrestler but Cody gets the character work better), both have 95% of what Vince wants as a main eventer, won’t let you down, can work face or heel, will put the effort in but he will never clarify or even be able to identify what that missing 5% is.

Think he's mostly been devoting his time to his and Spears' wrestling school and doing things for his and Spears' Twitch streaming. He doesn't seem in much of a hurry to get back into the wrestling grind for now.

Say what you will about who failed on the main roster or whose merits that rested on, but like you need a strong midcard and you need people who can put on matches. That's the area these cuts and departures have really carved up, and likely will continue carving up over time. Someone like Cesaro should have been a no-brainer to keep around even if only as a guy to keep sticking in tag teams where he makes shit work. You can't have your three top stars and then fill the rest out with Azeezes. I hold that a WWE that can't casually just put on a good match on TV to fill space is going to be an even worse WWE to watch. Cesaro should be how you hold that fort down.

That's exactly what they're doing, they're going to have the handful that matter, a ton of cheap green NXT talent with a few vets sprinkled in.

They definitely could have used him more in the I-C and U.S. title picture. He could have been a more valuable midcarder, but I can't say I'll miss him terribly.

one of the best tag team wrestlers they ever had. Both the Real Americans and the Bar were great. Do not know they never got fully behind him. Easily could have had a few runs with the world title. Unlike Dolph or Kofi other mainly upper midcard tag team acts he never got it even once. Even as both tag teams I just mentioned did feature former world champs. Not sure he was misused but he could have easily been used for much more.
