Most of wrestling moves are dumb and make zero sense but they look good. Chief Jay Strongbow wasn’t impressed with some move Owen Hart was doing, said “You wouldn’t do that in a real fight!!!” Owen says, “Well Chief, next time I’m in a street fight, I’ll do a War Dance”.

It's always the Overdrive. Nothing about that process makes a lick of sense. Even if you buy that it's supposed to be a neckbreaker variation, why bother with all the convoluted setup when you could just do a version with your hands instead? Rich Swann's your man. I feel like Elix Skipper's the only guy who kinda got away with the Overdrive, but even he had better options. And nice. Jack Evans also has sometimes done standing 450s, also, standing Phoenix Splash, I think. I'd argue MVP made it work. His still looks good, tho the Drive By was def the better move.

When a wrestler is in the tree of woe and decides the best solution to this predicament is to sit up to receive a double foot stomp. I can buy into all sorts of ridiculous moves from the people's elbow to invisible hand grenades but that is the dumbest. Takes too long, no logic, isn't even that cool. I know Low Ki, at least, used to stand on their knee, and the pain would force them to bend upwards.

When they get irished whipped to the ropes and the other guys bends down just to be kicked in the chest. What is the point of it?

I can’t stand Trevor Lee/Cameron Grimes back flipping power slam. Half the time it seems like the opponent is an idiot for trying a cross body at that moment, and all Grimes is doing is flipping backwards. It’s like adding the Canadian Destroyer with the “don’t Powerbomb Kidman” rule. Just dumb.

When they get irished whipped to the ropes and the other guys bends down just to be kicked in the chest. What is the point of it? It's supposed to be they're bending down to give a back body drop but telegraphed it so their opponent kicks them, but that makes me realise it's been so long since I've seen a back body drop that people genuinely may not know what one is now. Like how the point of the drop-down is to trip the opponent but it never happens.

Yeah, I think it's been so long since anyone's actually HIT the back body drop people might not recognize it... like when people wondered why Flair would ever go to the top rope if he always is pulled off... (spoiler he wasn't and won one of his world titles with a top rope chop)

It's such an oddly satisfying and fun move to see, especially when agile wrestlers like HBK would get crazy height with them. Plus, while I'm not a wrestler, I'd imagine a simple back bump like that is super basic to take.

It's basic, but I think it's like scoop slams in that yeah, it's basic, but a bump is a bump, and wrestlers often speak of a figurative "bump card" they have, and that when they've taken enough bumps, their body is all out. Using them up on basic moves is likely seen as something of a waste.

I hate any move that sets up a finisher but it requires their opponent to move unnaturally into position. So, like, Scotty 2 Hotty's and Jericho's facebuster that somehow makes their opponent flip onto their back. Or the shotgun dropkick Finn does where they fall into the perfect position for his finisher.

That would make more sense.

Also in that vein of opponants doing unatural movements after a move, any singles match Shawn Michaels was in, if he hit SCM, the guy falls to the mat.
But once he's teamed with Triple H or Cena, suddenly SCM only makes the guy walk in a daze right into a Pedigree/AA.

Most of wrestling moves are dumb and make zero sense but they look good. Honestly, if all leaps in logic were removed from pro wrestling, it’d just be UWFI/Rings. That’s fine once in a while, but it’s not for everyone.

I hate The Panama Sunrise. I think it's somehow worse than The Canadian Destroyer. The Meltzer Driver is kinda stupid, too. Oh I pick the Meltzer Driver. I hate that move Also the Grand Amplitude
