Okay, so I have a bit of a controversial pick here: The spinning toe hold. Yes, I know Frank Gotch used to make people legit tap out with the hold. But just from a kayfabe standpoint, it makes no sense to me. You've got a submission hold that's only effective for 2-3 seconds at a time, at which point you have to let go of the hold and re-apply it over and over until the opponent taps out. My problem is that every time you let go of the hold to re-apply it, you're actively giving your opponent the chance to escape or counter. I mean, that's usually what happens whenever anyone does the move these days. Weirdly, the last time I remember seeing anyone lose to a spinning toe hold was King Booker randomly doing it on someone during his run. I don't even remember who he beat with it, it was some random Smackdown where he did it, and I wonder if he was experimenting to see if fans would be receptive to him adding a submission finisher, but given it was a one-off, maybe he felt it was too tough of a sell.

Foley busted it out during his Anti-Hardcore ECW run, because he knew how boring the move was.

I assume he was also doing it to tease Funk since Terry would still do the move on occasion, though mostly by it being tolerated since it was him doing it and it had history.

Yeah, he mentioned in his book that Funk got it over in Japan, but American audiences, especially ECW would hate it.

Punches Like you get hit clean in the face unprotected a handful of times and you don’t get KOd That was why punches used to be illegal. Everyone has been punched in the face and knows what that feels like. Now, I know they could try playing it off as "these guys are tough." But people know, no matter how tough you are, multiple punches are going to put you out. And you ain't tough when you're sleeping.

When a wrestler is in the tree of woe and decides the best solution to this predicament is to sit up to receive a double foot stomp. I can buy into all sorts of ridiculous moves from the people's elbow to invisible hand grenades but that is the dumbest. Takes too long, no logic, isn't even that cool. I know Low Ki, at least, used to stand on their knee, and the pain would force them to bend upwards. Yeah, he not only steps on it, he grinds his foot on the knee, causing them to instinctively reach for their hurt knee, putting them in position for it.

WCW, NWA got a lot of mileage out of a taped fist match. Like taped fists were concrete.
