No offense to Santana, but letâs say WWE doesnât sign him, then what? Your kinda burning your AEW bridge, which hurts you chances in a lot of places. Attempt to make it big in Impact? I wish him luck, but I personally donât get it. I don't see why WWE would even sign him, and that's not a knock on Santana, he's talented as hell, but you didn't see them scooping up Grayson when he left, and idk if Santana is on any bigger level than Grayson in WWE's eyes, he's probably too small for them to be considered anything but fodder. He's also 31, and WWE's looking for more younger, easily moldable wrestlers that well, are barely wrestlers if they can manage to mold them into their ways and their style without resistance. I also don't think it was a good sign when Santana tried to be presented as this big singles threat in TERMINUS, and the match he had with Gresham turned out to be a gigantic mess with one of the worst finishes of the entire year in maybe any promotion. Even if you want to leave, you want to raise your stock on the way out. You're literally being giftwrapped TV every week, you've been giftwrapped huge events and PPV spots just about every time, Santana's been given more than a lot of guys on this roster and has been pretty protected in doing so. He hasn't won a title yet, but of all people to be possibly disgruntled and phoning it in, Santana's one that shocks me. Doing it in such a way where you're potentially tanking your own stock anywhere else you go, makes even less sense, especially if that Eddie tweet is about him. There are roads you take when your attitude starts showing in wrestling... what I'm saying is, you don't want to be an Ivelisse...

I wish him luck, but I personally donât get it. WWE will 100% sign him up. If it hurts the competition at all. I spoke with Santana at an appearance last winter, and I just got the feeling even then, that he just didnt have a passion for being there. Ortiz, Bobby Fish, Bunny and Darby Allin were all there too, and all just had so much more feeling for it. Santana felt very removed. I just dont think hes happy, and thats super important. I think theres a reason they won their feud with FTR last year, but then never did much after that, and it doesnt have to do with their in ring.

And he's not in the mood to just collect a paycheck. If it means working more for less, as long as it keeps him busy, that's what he wants.

'member when Ortiz and Santana broke away from the Inner Circle so they could focus on their own tag team run?

I don't think they have. P&P not getting the title has been a travesty, but no other tag team short of the Bucks has been featured as consistently as these guys have. Even the Best Friends have had down periods and breaks, or Jungle Boy has been off doing singles stuff and Luchasaurus goes missing for a little while. But Santana and Ortiz have consistently had things to do. Not the things they could have, I'll grant, but this isn't Private Party being the occasional Dynamite warm body.

Santana has also dealt with a lot in his personal life so I think heâs probably looking for a change as AEW has done him and Ortiz massively dirty by not putting the straps on them during their run

Yea Santana has been a major player (certainly not a âcreative has nothing for youâ guy like someone else said) but he if argue the team is of him and Ortiz is more valuable than either individually. Santana isnât a canât miss prospect like Jungle Boy, a future as bright as someone like MJF, or a main evernter like Hangman. All three of those Iâd consider huge losses, and would hurt AEW, not Santana. If both him and Ortiz were pulling this, Iâd say it would be a big loss. Just Santana putting his neck out there? Iâm not to sure. But as you said you talk to the guy, and he seemed less passionate than others about AEW. If he needs to do something to find passion, or take a risk more power to him. I just struggle to see why he is going about it this way.

I think Sanata as a singles guy has huge potential.
But I think that dooms Ortiz, honestly.

I don't think Ortiz is doomed if PnP splits, he's good in the ring, has good energy, and he's always been the character guy in PnP. He'd immediately slot into the uppr-midcard if he went singles, and if you want him to still be a tag team guy, it won't be difficult to find him a partner he has chemistry with.

I cannot imagine an AEW which has time to push solo Ortiz when their main event scene is already so jam packed as it is. I'm not being critical of Ortiz, AEW is just super bloated on top

Not everyone needs to be at the top, nor do they need to fight over a belt to be featured.

I agree, but half of my favourite AEW talents still barely show up on Dynamite at all There's seriously no good reason why people like Emi Sakura, Diamante, Sonny Kiss, Peter Avalon, or anyone else that's usually on Dark and Elevation can't show up on Dynamite or Rampage at least every two weeks or so, instead of mostly never anymore. UE and Britt Baker could use a break once in a while.

If that makes sense.
