mLegend and Viper are continuing to panto villain style heels. Legend I think gets it, he's completely full of himself and it works it's funny, and it gets heat from the audience. Viper doesn't talk but is angy. I need a little more time with him. Sabre making cat puns and Fury being absolutely the opposite of her namesake is glorious. Most of the other female glads haven't had enough camera time to make an impression on me yet. I did notice Legend almost broke character tonight and tried not to laugh during an interview. I agree with you about the female Glads though - I’m sure they were on it last week but Athena, Electro and Comet don’t seem to get as much air time as Fury and Sabre. Yet…

Yet… Comet got a moment on the wall, and I'm sure she'll get a go at Hang Tough. But it's not great that certain gladiators are GOING to get used more. Like Apollo and Fury are GOING to play Powerball, Ring and The Edge. You can't not send out the Rugby players for those games. That means a lot of the glads will only come out for the team games and there's just not much face time there. It's early in the series so I'm not concerned but that is something I'd like them to address next series (if there is one).

Legend's excuse that the light got in his eyes was hilarious.

This was one for foot fetish lovers.
Loved that one of the contestants got so caught up in a victory dance, she forgot points relied on a victory lap
Viper is a real push over in Gauntlet two weeks in a row
Powerball was the most brutal game of the night on the men's side

Shadow was the main man but he wasn't there every week so others got more time to shine. Part of it is just teething problems. Legend is a much better heel than Viper at the moment, much more fun. Hopefully they give the women chances, they seem high on Diamond and Dynamite, now they need mic time.

...Fury and Bronty just had the best game on the edge of the series so far. The contender running full bore back and forth and Fury ending the game with a running tackle just no f***s given. A contrast to the other runs this episode where the contender ran back and forth in the safe area while the gladiator tried to control the centre. It's a great game, especially when both the glad and the contender are game but the correct move is a little lame. Best game of Gauntlet this season, with Bionic bossing Ash back to the start line.
Three good duels, and the Wall was close between the guys and both Alex and Bronty almost got caught by Comet and Sabre.
Legend continues to be the superior heel to Viper. Thanking the contender's family for coming to see him is just... Chef's kiss.
The Ring probably needs a rule where if you get taken down you have to go back to the start because otherwise it's 'grt taken down, pin released after a couple of seconds, contender crawls to the button, repeat. However it is a game that has been good each time.

Viper's almost sympathetic at this stage, poor sod can't catch a break
Nice to see some more Gladiators heeling it up, Gauntlet was a lot tougher on the male contenders this time.

You don't want to be playing in the ring without a helmet.
Very true.

If this doesn't pan out, Bionic has a bright future as a pro wrestler or a snow plough.

Got round to watching the first episode last night enjoyed it. Viper was cracking me up with his dedication to look mean and moody all the time. Legend seems like a full of himself heel I like. Games were all enjoyable. Mark Clattenburg is no Jon Anderson though. The banter at times between Bradley and his son was painful. Bradley did get some laughs out of me though. Myles botching the rings made him the idiot of the night. Finlay looked like he was after his own tv show or something.
Dynamite Collision Athena Nitro
Lots of wrestling rip off names.

This is just a me thing, but Dynamite makes me think of cheerleading. Because Coventry Dynamite exist and are awesome.

I didn't expect to like this so much.
Was cheering Bronte on, not only does she have to be favourite she could probably be a gladiator. Weird that as a firefighter her one weakness was climbing a rope.
Gauntlet had been a low point but Bionic sending him flying back to the start was great. Get him to revpro as ZSJ's cousin.
Just a shame Barney went from bland to actively bad.

Yeah, gauntlet needs an overhaul, till we had BEAST MODE Bionic it's been so easy for everyone.
I'd also like to not have Duel every week, particularly with Giant. Make it a bit more special so when the contenders see him it's an "oh shit" moment.
Gladiators are definitely settling into their roles. I'd give Apollo a makeover, dude is huge but looks so generic you don't notice.

... OK, every time the wall is done someone loses a shoe and the gladiator falls as a result. I feel like that didn't happen so regularly in the classic or Sky series.

I'd give Apollo a makeover, dude is huge but looks so generic you don't notice. Not to dismiss his athletic prowess, but stick a blue suit on him and he’d look right at home on The Apprentice.

Who throws a shoe? Honestly.
Diamond at least is a woman
There's a legend Matt's still trying to finish The Eliminator.

I'm in the US, but I've been catching episodes here and there. I'm overall pretty darn delighted by this show, which has nailed the pacing, which is the most important thing. My favorite parts are the tiny little scenes of the gladiators geeking out in the locker room with each other about cool stuff they did. As much attention as the heel gladiators get, the faces, like Nitro and Fury, are delightful.

Judging by the comments, this is much better than the last attempt at a Gladiators reboot?
