Without hindsight it has to be that WCW show for the Wargames main event with NWO. Probably hoping this is where the NWO get their comeuppance.

Yeah, the WCW card is definitely the more consistent card, which is rarity from them.
Not only is Mind Games a one match show (albeit a classic whose value rose heavily when Mick put in writing that it was the best match of his career), but that one great matches lacks a finish so you don't even turn off the show feeling good in spite of the great match.

I'd have voted for Mind Games, but alas, too late, heh.
For this one, hmm. Halloween Havoc. WWF has the better main event, but that's way too robust an undercard to compete with.

I’m tempted to go with WWF just for Sid/Vader which I’d have been anticipating at the time but WCW’s card is just overall stronger so I’ll go with them. I wouldn’t really have been interested in Hogan/Savage but there’s enough promising looking stuff on the rest of the card.

This would've been my hardest sell to my parents to get both just because of buried alive and no Shawn but wcw is just to hot

This was actually a hard choice.
Halloween Havoc +1
Why? Because it's Halloween Havoc. It's 3 hours. It's a monster card with Hogan and Savage at the top.
IYH has two matches that I REALLY wanted to see, but it's a 2 hour show and most of it is matches I'm not excited about.

I'm going with Buried Alive, I liked the Undertaker VS Mankind feud and at the time, The Buried Alive Match was certainly interesting.

NWO was hot but the buried alive match sounded really cool. Also Sid vs. Vader? I'm going WWF.

Survivor Series for HBK-Sid and Bret-Austin, especially after seeing how much of a clusterf*** the WW3 battle royal was the previous year.

It's a bit tough for November, but I still went with WCW as I enjoyed Dragon vs. Mysterio and Luger nearly winning the World War 3 battle royal.
Though I liked when Sid won the WWF title from HBK.

Survivor Series
I can remember being pretty excited about it in '96, especially the mystery man... who turned out to be a big disappointment. But, it's freaking Survivor Series.
Most of that WW3 card does not excite me. Also, hindsight is not a factor in my choice, BUT 1996's WW3 was stupid af to watch on TV because they had the screen split in three LONG AFTER ALL THE WRESTLERS MERGED INTO ONE RING. F@#%!

Survivor Series for me, the event still had its luster, even though I can't work out why they did Undertaker VS Mankind again especially as The Buried Alive Match should have settled things between the two of them (For 1996 at least)
World War 3 had some strange looking match ups, even though I'm sure there a reason for them explained on Nitro.
