Another easy WCW win for me. They just had such a loaded roster and more variety compared to WWF at the time. You've got your star power with the NWO matches, some good workrate matches, a women's match, a cruiserweight match, a tag match. Plus it being an outdoor show would have made me more interested in watching it.

WCW +1
I probably like the WWF card more overall, but the WCW card is better near the top. NWO is just more interesting than anything WWF has got going on. Also hated babyface HBK and it was kind of a foregone conclusion that he would beat Vader. Gag.

I want to go WWF here because of Undertaker/Mankind... but the NWO had me hooked. WCW

I'm going Summerslam, I couldn't call the top 2 matches whereas I knew it would be more of the same with the NWO, I knew that they weren't losing.
Was anyone shocked that Paul Bearer turned on on That Undertaker. I know that Owen Hart elluded to it at King Of The Ring, but it was still a suprise when it happened?

I went with WCW on this one for August as I wasn't into Shawn's title reign and WCW was must see TV at this time.

I'd say WCW. At this point the PPV has more of a must see quality given Hogan's heel turn you which you don't want to miss anything.

WCW was getting so much better. I remember back then I got every WCW PPV from July 96 Bash to Souled Out 97 and no WWF PPVs. I think Souled Out killed my fandom for a while as I stopped watching both companies until June 1997. Starting with Summerslam 97 I got every WWF PPV, very few if any WCW PPVs.

That’s a close one.
I remember even being excited for Austin vs. Yoko on the free for all. Boiler Room brawl sounded fun, I thought Vader was winning.
Hogan was an interesting serve but I’m not sure I was completely sold on it at the time. Still felt like a relic of the past, He wasn’t losing to the giant that’s for sure, but the novelty of being at motor cycle rally, outsiders vs. Luger and Sting… and being in grade school thinking Bret Hart could still join them.. hmm..
I think with 96 eyes I’m going with Summerslam.

Still got to go with WCW at this point, they were white hot and I liked the main event with HBK/Mankind but the rest of the card is boring.

War Games would've got me to go with WCW... missing the great Michaels/Mankind match.

WCW +1
I feel guilty about that because Mind Games was a much better show, but 1996 me would have needed to see that War Games, which ended up sucking ass.

Fall Brawl here.
Besides Shawn vs Mankind, that WWF card is horrible. Henry vs Lawler? Sweatsock wrestling? What is a Final Curtain match?

Going WCW because I think that's what I would've chosen pre show. And even having watched both shows WCW definitely won this one. Its a very consistently good show whereas the WWF show was awful until the main event which, IMO, is the best match on either show

Fall Brawl for that war games match alone.

Fall Brawl but only just, War Games was a major match at the time.
It was close because it was possible that Mankind would win because he was being pushed hard (Beating The Undertaker twice and having Paul Bearer turn on The Undertaker to join him)
If that Curtain Call Match was more intriguing, then I would have Chosen Mind Games. But however, seeing that it was the only way to win was Pinfall, it didn't seem special.

WCW card is stacked. Lots of different types of matches. Easy winner
