Shane Douglas talks a lot of shit for a guy that’s never had a match better than passable That’s what always got me about his shoot bit in ECW. He was constantly talking shit about Flair and Hogan, and even at the time I was like, “Dude, they’re both bigger stars than you for a reason and it’s not because you were held back.” For real, if Hogan or Flair somehow ended up in ECW Paul E. probably would have benched Shane. lol

There is an objectively correct answer here, and it is Brimstone.

To add someone into this, Quackenbush. And this is despite the fact that a part of AEW's DNA is CHIKARA. So does the Chikara part disappear if AEW has a Hell in the Cell match?

I’ll never forget Low-Ki legit knocking someone out with his first move and then trying to have a long match with that person instead of just pinning them. On top of being a self-important jerk, he’s also an absolute dork. Ki knocked out Dan Maff with a kick at ROH Good Friends / Stiffer Enemies in 03 or 04. But that was the end of the match. It did not continue. I've heard about this match where Ki drug around a knocked out opponent but I've never seen it or heard of it outside of these forums. Am I remembering this wrong? Or was it 2 separate incidents where he knocked someone out with a kick?

It's still probably Disco. As Eddie said, nobody ever left a show thinking about him, which isn't the case even for some of the less pleasant names on this thread. Eddie Guerrero said that? That's hilarious and accurate. What made him say that?

Maybe the time he conked Manabu Nakanishi with a disco ball on Nitro after an Elvis impersonator ran out. They might remember the ball more, maybe. I thought I was the only person that remembered that. I was starting to think I imagined it. Was it ever explained why this happened? I believe "Elvis" was Jacques Rougeous wasn't it? I listen to a ton of podcasts and seen a lot of shoots and I've never heard this addressed.

Not Guerrero, Eddie Kingston Ahh. That makes more sense. It is funny to imagine what would make Eddie Guerrero say that though. Like that rumor that Eric Bischoff poured his coffee on Guerrero. “Why are you pouring your coffee on me? I’m about to steal the show with Rey Mysterio. Pour it on Glenn. Nobody gives a f*** about him!”

Or was it 2 separate incidents where he knocked someone out with a kick? He came to EVOLVE in his first match since being released from WWE against a 7 foot tall hoss guy that I forget the name of. He just flip kicks him straight in the head and knocks him out the second the bell rings. Ignoring that he legit knocked him out in a fake sport, which is admittedly hard to ignore, it looked great and made Ki look like an absolute badass especially with EVOLVE's sport type presentation. Except Ki doesn't pin him and tries to do a hand spring kick and a double foot stomp off the top, which doesn't work because the guy is knocked the f*** out and cant react properly. Then finally pins him. EDIT - Here is the match. Other wrestler is Ahtu. www.youtube.com/watch?v=i-xoN6Kx1VI

Jack Evans knocked himself out with a botched move from the top rope and instead of pinning Evans and ending the match, Ninja Mack grabs Evans by the wrist and drags him to the next spot. Nobody said anything negative because it's Mack and not Ki, who everyone hates anyway. After watching the video it looked like Ki did the same thing as Mack did. He ended the match after the KO but only after getting his shit in first. In the video you can see Ki talking to Ahtu during the pin, presumably asking if he's okay.

This thread has reminded me of an interview I read with Tom Zenk many years ago where he claimed the Can-Am Connection were "over like kings on earth" and that they were the third biggest faces in the WWF in 1987, behind Hogan and Ordnorff. And the whole reason he got the arse with Martel is because Martel was earning more than him, I would imagine largely by virtue of being vastly more experienced and established. He came across as phenomenally deluded throughout.

This wasn't Honkytonk playing a character trying to drum up business for a work shoot, Tom Zenk truly a bitter man towards WWF and anyone in the McMahon family.
