I really hope the Giants don’t sign Judge. Save the big money for a shot at Ohtani or Soto in the coming offseasons. I’m convinced the back half of the Judge deal is going to be an absolute nightmare and the Giants aren’t one Aaron Judge away from competing with LA or SD.

It’s confirmed of what I’ve already known. Gepetto and Pinocchio return for another shot(s). I can’t blame Boone because he’s a puppet, and Steinbrenner has no inclination to go in a different direction at GM because the money machine keeps going brrrrr. Hence, the Yankees will not opt to rebuild, nor will they flex their financial muscles to compete for big ticket talent, leaving them in a holding pattern of above-average, but nowhere near the championship caliber that Hal likes to tout every time he removes the silver spoon to talk.
This is why I need Judge to walk and the Mets to win it all and soon. Only when there’s less than 10k at Yankee Stadium frequently, TV ratings are in the toilet, no face of the team to latch onto, and the best sports ticket in town resides in Flushing is when either Steinbrenner will change course and fire Cashman or sell the team. Either way, my patience is up.

Can't believe the Phillies were in a World Series this year and I still might not believe it even when they're raising the NLDS banner lmfao

Could have been better, just can't stay healthy ala Conforto. Might just need a change of scenery. Someone like the Marlins should be on him just to flip if he turns out well.

Some off-season news: - Yanks make QO to Anthony Rizzo A QO basically kills Rizzo's appeal as a free agent. Pretty much guarantees he's back with the Yankees, although I don't know how big his market was going to be regardless at age 33.

Felt like he could got got a 2 year deal somewhere for good money but I think Yanks give him another 2 year deal and add on a 3rd as an option

Yeah, Haniger should bounce back somewhere and I expect Mariners to try to spend money I wouldn't be surprised if they pull another Chone Figgins move and get someone like Trea Turner and play him in that same spot

Yeah, Haniger should bounce back somewhere and I expect Mariners to try to spend money I wouldn't be surprised if they pull another Chone Figgins move and get someone like Trea Turner and play him in that same spot If the M's get Turner he'll most likely be at 2nd base. Problem with M's outfield is the logjam of uncertainty behind J-Rod. Kelenic shows flashes of brilliance but then goes cold. Kyle Lewis is still nursing his knee. Winker was replacement level last year and is not a good defender. Dylan Moore and Sam Haggerty are great bench pieces but I don't know if I would give either the job of maining an outfield position (DyMo might be an option at 2nd, though, if the M's can snag a top SS to play there or reposition JP Crawford). If even one of these guys could be said to be a good everyday guy on the outfield it would be great. As I see it, Mariners can try a reunion with Haniger at a lower than QO offer (maybe with a few incentives for number of games played/PA per year), but their focus this off-season is getting a top of the line offense SS, with the outfield situation (and the DH spot) floating in uncertainty for the time being.

Jean Segura option was declined by Phillies Eric Hosmer will opt into his PO Jorge Soler to remain with Marlins Soler had a really bad year, so he's gonna look to rebound and hedge his bets even if the Marlins are going nowhere Sox could do worse, Hosmer's a stable first baseman and they're on a bad downswing and might be losing a lot this offseason I love Jean but the Phillies will probably be all in on Trea Turner more than anyone else this offseason, so that makes sense.

Casuals don't even hate-watch the Stros to see if they lose, like Mayweather or Paul.

It's not fun hate-watching cheaters when the games start so damn late and are so long.
There's a reason the Superbowl starts at like 5 in the afternoon instead of 8 at night.

There also might just be a general sense of burnout with the Astros. They've represented the American League in the World Series in four of the last six years. Look back to when the Yankees were running roughshod over the sport in the late-90s and early-2000s. Baseball was arguably at its healthiest, and the average ratings went from 25.2 million viewers in 1996 to 18 million viewers in 2000. The viewer simply got tired of the same team being in the World Series over and over again. Conversely, ratings for Astros World Series appearances have dipped from 18.9 million viewers in 2017 to 11.7 million this past series. Ultimately, there's a million factors that go into television ratings (the lowest-rated ever was the 2020 World Series and a book could be written on why ratings were down for that Series in that year), but I don't think it's unreasonable to say that the average baseball fan is generally tired of the Astros and how inevitable their championship victory felt this postseason.

Definitely burnout with the Astros for me. They are not fun to root against as villains since the cheating stuff was so long ago, and this was their 4th WS appearance in 6 years. Enough is enough.
We need some AL team to knock them off next season. Don’t care who it is. Best chance is probably Mariners, Blue Jays, and retooled Yankees. Maybe the Rays if they get healthy.

A feel like the Cubs might've given him a courtesy look... although it looks like they are going to go after Abreu as a bridge to Mervis.
