Well WCW won Dec 1997 5-0
WCW wins 1997 6-5-1
Again, if you are new, you are NOT picking which PPV ended up best. You are picking on which PPV you would have picked based on the card if you only could have watched one. Price doesn't matter none of that. You can either pick the WWF card or WCW card, which one ya got
January WCW Souled Out 1 Juventud Guerrera, Super Caló, Lizmark Jr. and Chavo Guerrero Jr. vs La Parka, Psychosis, Silver King and El Dandy Eight-man tag team match 09:30 2 Chris Benoit vs Raven by submission Raven's Rules Match 10:36 3 Chris Jericho va Rey Misterio Jr. (c) Singles match for the WCW Cruiserweight Championship 08:22 4 Booker T (c) va Rick Martel Singles match for the WCW World Television Championship 10:50 5 Larry Zbyszko (with Dusty Rhodes) vs Scott Hall (with Louie Spicolli) Singles match 08:09 6 Ray Traylor and The Steiner Brothers (Rick Steiner and Scott Steiner) (with Ted DiBiase) vs The nWo (Konnan, Scott Norton and Buff Bagwell) (with Vincent) Six-man tag team match 12:20 7 Kevin Nash (with Hollywood Hogan and Eric Bischoff) vs The Giant Singles match 10:47 8 Bret Hart dvs Ric Flair Singles match 18:06 9 Lex Luger vs Randy Savage (with Miss Elizabeth) Singles match WWF ROYAL RUMBLE 1 Vader vs The Artist Formerly Known as Goldust (with Luna) Singles match 7:51 2 Max Mini, Mosaic and Nova vs Battalion, El Torito and Tarantula Six-man tag team match with Sunny as special guest referee 7:48 3 The Rock (c) vs Ken Shamrock Singles match for the WWF Intercontinental Championship 10:53 4 The Legion of Doom (Animal and Hawk) vs The New Age Outlaws (Billy Gunn and Road Dogg) (c) Tag team match for the WWF Tag Team Championship 7:56 5 30-man Royal Rumble match for a WWF Championship match at WrestleMania XIV 55:25 6 Shawn Michaels (c) (with Chyna and Triple H) vs The Undertaker Casket match for the WWF Championship

While Souled Out has a pretty loaded card, I'm a mark for the Rumble match itself, so this is a tough call. I'll go with the Rumble but just barely (Rock vs Shamrock and Michaels/Taker also sound like they could be intriguing).

I’ll take any Rumble over any WCW card.
WCW dropped the ball with Sting at Starrcade and the weeks that followed and just made the whole two booking end on a wet fart. It was hard to get excited about anything WCW was doing and WWF was so hot. It’s like the entire wrestling world flipped in the course of a month. Also there is nothing cool about Larry Zibrisco.

What about when he'd call the nWo the New World Odor, though?

That Souled Out card is super stacked with Bret's first WCW match, Nash/Giant which was a big match at the time and the usual strong WCW undercard so it's a tougher decision than it would normally be in January for me but I'd still go with Royal Rumble. As long as it has the Rumble match I'll vote for it every year. It's always the match I look forward to more than any other.

Easily Royal Rumble, it would have won regardless.
The way Starrcade ended, I would have chosen even the worst WWF card.
I think this is the year that WWF PPV's will beat WCW. For me WCW would have to put on a undeniable card/main event such as Hogan VS Goldberg.
Oh wait...

WWF, honestly. I was a big mark for stuff like casket matches. Still have a fondness for them.

Austin was so obviously the winner this year. Red hot, I would have bought Rumble

WCW. WCW was my choice promotion growing up. Hell, it's my choice promotion now. As crazy as it sounds, to this day I'd rather watch any era of WCW than any promotion going today.

While I liked both shows, I'd go with the WCW card here.

It was heavily implied that Austin would either win the Rumble or be the No. 1 story in the Rumble, which made that PPV almost a must-watch show. And all the title matches were ones I wanted to see. Rumble easily.

The Rumble for me. Savage v Luger felt like a pretty cold main event to me for WCW think Giant v Nash should have mainevented probably. The Rumble, Casket Match & Vader v Goldust are fun and Rock v Shamrock is decent.

Souled Out
It had some matches I really wanted to see. Normally the Rumble would win easily, but I had really lost interest in WWF at this point.

SuperBrawl
I'm not that excited about it, but pretty much every one of those IYH matches has got someone(s) who I couldn't give two shits about.

WCW's roster depth was still on another level at this point so definitely Superbrawl here. No Way Out didn't even have a world/tag/IC title match.

WWF, though only narrowly. WCW's card is more interesting to 2022 me, but 1998 me was real into Cactus Jack, Kane, Vader, and Austin, and was burned by Sting vs Hogan's previous title match being a mess.
