Yoshi Kwan used to frighten me as a kid. I thought his nerve hold would kill someone.

John Tenta was billed as being from the Great Barrier Reef during his Dungeon of Doom days. The man was clearly not actually a shark/man hybrid so I call baloney on that one. Also, in an ironic natural fact, most reef sharks aren’t that dangerous to humans. They pretty much have to be seriously provoked to attack. So double science-fail for you, Taskmaster. I think if I attempted to do wrestling moves on a reef shark, they might bite me, so maybe they weren't too far off.

Billy Jack Haynes as Black Blood, the French executioner. I guess there's also the question of if the Billy Jack Haynes character was implicitly supposed to be Native American, since the Tom Laughlin character of Billy Jack was, albeit certainly not convincingly portrayed as such by Tom. I don't off-hand remember Haynes ever trying to present himself as a Native American gimmick, though.

Will this thread kill the Lord Tensai gimmick? I think it was implied Tensai was an American inspired by Japanese culture rather then full blown Japanese.

Kwang/Savio
Jami-san/Jamie Noble
Shinobi/Al Snow
Kato/Paul Diamond
Super Giant Ninja/Ron Reiss
Super Invader/Hercules
I'm sure there are other examples. It seems like the mysterious masked Asian wrestler, who isn't of Asian descent at all is a wrestling trope as old as time.

He was full blooded! Just like Tracy Smothers and Tommy Rich! "Little Guido is Italian! The rest of those guys couldn't find Italy on a map!!!" 😂

Tanaka as well. Heck none of The Orient Express were Japanese. I thought Sato was? He may be of Japanese descent, but he's from Kansas City. I have heard Bruce Prichard mention it a few times.

Sammy Guevara is from Houston and despite Jericho calling him a Spanish God, is neither Spanish nor a God. Unless he's the God of No Selling. Sammy is of Cuban descent but is from Houston.

El Generico the red headed, French Canadian, Muslim, Luchador who spoke one word of Spanish. OLE!!! Rumor has it that the red headed luchador in question is now running around portraying an honorary Samoan! But who would believe that nonsense?!

Isn’t that Zima Ion dude Filipino even though he’s in a Mexican group? Yes. He's Filipino and white. Zelina Vega is Puerto Rican. The only one I know for a fact that is actually Mexican in that group is El Hijo del Fantasma. No idea about the other guy whose name I can't remember and I don't care enough to Google 🤷♂️

Can't believe we've come this far without mentioning the Ugandan Giant, Kamala... a literate, civil man from Mississippi. Was Kimchee / Friday supposed to be of African descent too? Because if so, the lie detector determined that was a lie!

So Jinder is obviously of Indian descent but he's absolutely Canadian and that never gets mentioned. Same with the Bollywood Boyz.

He could still be Caucasian and be from Africa, PJ Black for example. I always thought Kimchee was supposed to be a smuggler who was also African and therefore spoke no English, which is why Kamala often had an English speaking manger in addition to a handler?

He may be of Japanese descent, but he's from Kansas City. I have heard Bruce Prichard mention it a few times. Googling him says he was born in Japan but now he lives in Kansas City, so going on that I’d say it’s more than of descent.

Jimmy Wang Yang is half-Korean, but was presented as Japanese when he was "Akio" briefly as one of Tajiri's lackeys, until Tajiri had the angle scrapped, concerned about possible ramifications to heavily implying Yakuza ties. The other lackey, Sakoda, was indeed Japanese-American, though, and also has unfortunately passed away.
