Jimmy Wang Yang is half-Korean, but was presented as Japanese when he was "Akio" briefly as one of Tajiri's lackeys, until Tajiri had the angle scrapped, concerned about possible ramifications to heavily implying Yakuza ties. The other lackey, Sakoda, was indeed Japanese-American, though, and also has unfortunately passed away. He was also in the Jung Dragons, a 'japanese' faction with Korean American Leia Meow and the not even remotely Asian Jamie Noble.

Tito Santana was billed from Tocula, Mexico when he was actually a Texan.

He may have some heritage from there but Roddy Piper wasn’t Scottish. Yep he was Canadian, yes?

He may be of Japanese descent, but he's from Kansas City. I have heard Bruce Prichard mention it a few times. Googling him says he was born in Japan but now he lives in Kansas City, so going on that I’d say it’s more than of descent. What can I say? It's not the first time Bruce has lied/given bad information 🤦♂️🤷♂️

He may have some heritage from there but Roddy Piper wasn’t Scottish. Yep he was Canadian, yes? About a week ago I watched a KC Commentaries clip with Piper talking about the coconut angle. Piper said "I didn't know anything about coconuts. I'm not even from this country and they don't even ship them in where I'm from." 😆

As a minor quibble, "Yokozuna" is a title for the highest ranked sumo wrestlers in the world, not a name. And there has been at least one gaijin yokozuna in the past.
I don't remember if they ever said Yokozuna the wrestler was actually Japanese or just from Japan because he lived there as a sumo.

Can't believe we've come this far without mentioning the Ugandan Giant, Kamala... a literate, civil man from Mississippi. Was Kimchee / Friday supposed to be of African descent too? Because if so, the lie detector determined that was a lie! Nah Kimchee was clearly a European slaver. No word on why he was named after fermented cabbage from Korea though.

I can't say for sure, but I kind of suspect that some of the Machines (Giant Machine, Super Machine, Big Machine, Hulk Machine, Piper Machine, Animal Machine, and/or Crusher Machine) might not be Asian.

It was never said outright but The Giant being the son of Andre implies he's half-French.

There was a time when Raw was in the UK where WWE had Joe Hendry and Lionheart act as Russians presenting an award to Rusev.

Isn’t that Zima Ion dude Filipino even though he’s in a Mexican group? Yes. He's Filipino and white. Zelina Vega is Puerto Rican. The only one I know for a fact that is actually Mexican in that group is El Hijo del Fantasma. No idea about the other guy whose name I can't remember and I don't care enough to Google 🤷♂️ While we're on the subject of Zelina Vega and "Mexican" groups: how about Mexican America in TNA? Featuring one actual Mexican American (Mex-Pac), one Mexican/Puerto Rican (Hernandez), one full Puerto Rican (Zelina, then called Rosita), and one Canadian who is neither Mexican nor American (Sarita). Not to be outdone, WWE would put together their own stable of Mexican stereotypes with one whole Mexican: then unmasked Hunico (aka Sin Cara II), Puerto Rican Epico, and Tongan Camacho (now Tanga Loa in NJPW).

I think it was implied Tensai was an American inspired by Japanese culture rather then full blown Japanese. They also totally had no choice after dude spoke Japanese on TV and sounded absolutely hilarious www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Yhe2UhExU0LORD TENSAI des During Tensais debut, Michael Cole says that he’s a former WWE star.
