Just throwing it out there, some lovable scamp uploaded the original broadcast of this episode to archive dot org. It's one of the few episodes where you can hear the audience audibly confused on when/where to clap when the sketch was over. I may be misremembering, but I think while it was pulled from ever re-running on NBC, this was the episode where the Comedy Central rerun was heavily cut and they added an additional taped rehearsal performance from the musical guest to fill up the time. (I may be wrong on this, I'm about 65% sure this was the episode it happened on) The only episode that was aired once and never rebroadcast in whole or in part in any form was when Milton Berle hosted, who did not get the concept of the show at all and it's among the worst trainwrecks in live television history. It never saw the light of day until Saturday Night Live began releasing DVD sets. Milton didn't get the sketch concept and delivered all of his lines right into the camera - and that's the best thing you can say about it. The abrupt cut-off of his monologue and subsequent on-air tantrum have to be seen to be believed. What season is the Berle episode from? I got seasons 1,2,4 on DVD cheap a few years back. Only watched all of 1 and half of 2 so far. Season 4 (78-79)

The theory that these movies are a money-laundering scheme makes perfect sense considering the complete lack of effort by the star.

Nicholas Cage: Man, you must think I'm the biggest asshole ever! Lorne Michaels: No, that would be Steven Segal. Come to think of it, has anyone had a bad word to say about Nicolas Cage on a personal level? Aside from his poor financial situation and the like, I don't think I've heard many bad things about him.

Other than playful ribbing and parodies, nothing I've heard. Sounds like he's pretty well-liked in Hollywood and such.

He's been arrested for domestic abuse and a couple of DUIs but nothing seems to have come from it.

Not really as for some unknown reason even to this very day he still has a decent size fanbase in Eastern Europe and Russia. Though his former business partner Julius R. Nasso had ties with the Mafia.

I forgot he was trying to be a musician, not sure if he still is but he was supposed to do a Jersey autograph signing IIRC was being promoted moreso for him now being in a band. There was a threat of a massive rain storm and he backed out at the last minute. He was the headline guest and the storm was a basic rainstorm-nothing major but I remember speculation from people saying he just wanted an excuse not to show. LOL. There was that celebrity show in the area and a big wrestling show about 20 minutes away and tons of celebrities and wrestlers all showed up except him.
I used to buy his direct to DVD movies whenever I saw one. They were pretty good up to a certain point but the formula always seems to be the same with no deviation from the usual and they became more boring. Some guys adapted to aging like Chuck Norris and Bruce Willis got direct to DVD shots that all had him playing different type characters with different storylines so those were enjoyable.

Watching fight scenes where he doesn’t get out of his seat and using a stunt double to walk will never stop being funny

I have to say that I liked these films: Above the Law Out for Justice Marked for Death Under Siege Under Siege 2: Dark Territory Exit Wounds Fire Down Below
Also, as cheesy and disjointed these ones are, I did enjoy "On Deadly Ground," "The Glimmer Man," and "Half Past Dead." I could give slight passes to only three or four of his straight-to-video films but I heard the rest are garbage.
As for other things about him, there is a reason this guy has become a meme. The guy is notoriously hard to work with. I hear he has had a few failed marriages, along with some charges of harassment towards other women. I could see that he could also be creepy with women in that low-budget commercial for his energy drink that came out during the mid-2000s.
I recall hearing a moment where he encountered Curt Hennig and tried to start something with him, but Hennig grabbed him by the arm and twisted it.

I love action and martial arts movies yet he is the only one I have never ever had any interest in watching,he comes across so dull and so boring and being a nasty human to really makes me glad it never seen his movies. I'm currently on a Cynthia Rothrock binge and man she rules, she would kick the hell out of Steven I have no doubt,I wish she had all the fame that Steven had, massivley off topic I know!

I've seen a couple of her US movies and some of her HK movies, and the US movies look like they're moving in slow motion compared to the HK stuff. Still, maybe I should give it another shot. What's the first one I should try?

What's the first one I should try? I do like her HK movies far more then her US stuff which dont really show her skils off fully. Lady Reporter and Undefeatable are two i really like and are pretty good films. Also Steven Seagal sucks.

Cynthia Rothrock does indeed kick all the ass. Hell yeah she does. If you rented movies in the 90s, you know her. She was the only woman to be on covers of action movies. She was the Queen of direct to video action movies, and Don "The Dragon" Wilson was the King. They both should have been bigger stars than they were, they were big in the action/martial arts movie circles, but should have had more mainstream success.

This is IMO the funniest Seageal story I have heard recently where directors , producers and even his agent were basically in on trying to get MJW to hurt Steven on the set of exit wounds.
