Triple H has fumbled as head booker (Vince in control p17)

One of my takeaways this weekend is just like...really I miss the HHH/Dusty/Ryan Ward NXT booking team cuz whatever the f*** the current thing is isn't it.

95% of his major story beats are just heat or continuing endless champions being endlessly the champion. WWE is better since he took over creative but it feels like every time they get the chance to do something truly great they continue the "default to shocked fan reaction" misery booking mode.

And that's not even including the stuff like a ton of the major returns floundering, the women's title scenes being trash...just blegh.


Mod Edit: On P17 it is being reported on WOL that Vince is completely in charge of creative again as of this past weekend because of the Endeavor sale.

in all seriousness, I do agree and have said in the past Triple H is overrated as a booker. As Chrial said, NXT at it's peak popularity had Ryan Ward as the head writer. THe moment he left to Smackdown, NXT started to decrease a little in quality under Road Dogg (ironically the same thing happened when Road Dogg replaced Ward on Smackdown). Triple H may have done a better job making the mid card titles mean something, but he's been far too reliant on indy buzz to get people over for a long time... and I said the same thing with a lot of the rehires since Vince retired and how the narrative from the WWE side changed to guys being brought back to pad the roster.

Not saying he's the worst booker in the world, but his lionized quite a bit due to a run of NXT Takeovers that are now what... between 6 to 8 years old?

But again... not quite sure he's the booker

I won't ever trust this dude again, and if this was all him with no Vince input, he proved he's no better than Vince from a booking standpoint

This will go down in history as one of the worst booking decisions of all time, like my man told WCW and LOLTNA to hold his sledgehammer, it was his time to shine, and boy did he. Just absolutely incredible.

I've seen so many people say they're either taking a break or done watching the product, great incentive to set if your companies being sold tomorrow and you don't know if you're still gonna have a job lol

I've had a bad feeling about Vince's "suggestions" but until it actually comes out that he's back in charge, I think we gotta put the blame on HHH when something sucks if we're going to give him the credit when things are going right.

Here's the issue with this statement. WWE has made it perfectly clear that everything revolves around Mania and maybe Summerslam. You literally built up this story and bypassed both Drew and Sami winning at events that made an insane amount of sense to tell this story and to now push a stupid catch phrase for this match. It doesn't matter when/if Cody dethrones Roman as you missed the perfect time with the perfect crowd to do the switch

Oh I've long been critical of Triple H as a booker and said a lot of people glossed over a lot of issues on the show since he wasn't Vince and because of the Punk/Elite drama from last year in AEW so if we want to give Triple H flak I've long done it and will begrudingly say I've been doing it before it was cool. But I've also been consistent in thinking Vince has been in control for a bit and they won't announce it till after Mania.
