What would this news be like for AEW talent hoping to hop on over to WWE when their current contracts are up?

UFC didn't really treat its fighters any better once it got bought by Endeavor, I don't see WWE's situaiton changing much either. If people think this is gonna open up the purse strings then they're in for some ugly surprises because the UFC pays f***ing dirt.

It probably doesn't have any real effect for the time being until it leads to any hirings or firings. It doesn't necessarily make WWE any more equipped to make things difficult for them unless they try to pressure arenas to not hold AEW shows, something that could backfire tremendously if they got busted doing it, which is why I sort of doubt WWE would try it.

I think one long term effect as a whole on the rest of wrestling (AEW/INDY) will be the fact that any mainstream MMA cross over now will likely funnel through WWE which typically doesn't correlate.

Probably much less chance of Dan Lambert and America Top Team fighters showing up in AEW ever again, which is either good or bad depending on your view of their AEW involvement last year.
Not sure what this actually means for Paige Van Zant because IIRC she actually has an AEW contract.

What would this news be like for AEW talent hoping to hop on over to WWE when their current contracts are up? The sports TV bubble is starting to pop. While I don't think AEW will be impacted too much, I don't think WWE is going to get the same money they got last go around. Multiple regional sports channels have gone under in the last few months. I also don't think the Saudi government is going to perpetually pay WWE for that current deal. They seem to be focused on switching their efforts to getting a World Cup

WWE is certainly going to go through cuts to eliminate redundancies on the office side which could help AEW as they expand their operation/become less of a start up type company. Think more Jeff Jarretts coming in which should be helpful.

She injured her foot December 2022 iirc, if anything she will be given the Mel treatment and let go once she is healed and deal is up

The last time I remember hearing about PVZ wrestling was when Gangrel tweeted that she was skipping training or some shit

As long as it doesn't effect her twitter posts we should be fine

PVZ isn't under UFC contract so that wouldn't have any effect on things. And Lambert isn't a UFC employee or anything, he just works with fighters there (among many other promotions).

Any AEW guys more likely to skip, or stay, now than before with WWE being under new ownership?

Any AEW guys more likely to skip, or stay, now than before with WWE being under new ownership? Depends on relationships as Endeavor is a talent agency so would be curious to see if there's any relationships with the new owners. But honestly all would likely come down to how much control Vince actually has, and honestly sounds like most in WWE don't even know what's the deal yet

Any AEW guys more likely to skip, or stay, now than before with WWE being under new ownership? I imagine it depends on if the acquisition leads to roster cuts. If there's a sudden surge of talents being let go, that suggests that there aren't any spots available, and whatever spots are open are probably for lower paying contracts. If you're getting paid better in AEW to do the Dark/Elevation shows and the occasional Dynamite/Rampage than you would working the 300 day schedule WWE has, it's not gonna be super appealing.

I think the interesting thing will come down to pay. MMA fighters have been on a vocal bit about UFC's horrible pay and with them and WWE now under a combined umbrella, they COULD leverage that into a Combat and Sports Entertainment Workers Asoc. if they so desired. It would be one thing for WWE to lock out some wrestlers, UFC to lock out some fighters but a combined force between them, even with lower level talent, could cause ripples.
It is a small chance, mind ya, but the smaller this world gets, the more people talk and plan.
Also, we will need to see how this TKO will shop their properties. If they try and push a combined plan, it opens up avenues for AEW that wouldn't have existed prior. For example, we know NBCU loves wrestling but would they want a deal that includes WWE and UFC for 3 Billion a year or whatever it would take to get the rights when AEW could be brought on for a quarter of that? If ESPN loses UFC rights for FIGHT PASS, that leaves a hole on ESPN+ that something like 20 years of ROH and 4 of AEW could fill.

Any AEW guys more likely to skip, or stay, now than before with WWE being under new ownership? I don’t think WWE is going to be going on a spending/hiring spree anytime soon. So it probably doesn’t give that much leverage to any AEW talent. Down the track when the dust has settled maybe. I wouldn’t be surprised in the short term at least if we see a big round of roster cutting by WWE.

If anything the booking of Cody last night might make some AEW wrestlers think twice before deciding to go to WWE.
