He's always going to get hit with lines like that when he pisses someone off, he's running the brand leader of wrestling because he married into the 1st family of wrestling not because of his big brain. Doesn't seem like they've put him in any pr or communications classes. Guy really needs it so he doesn't put his foot on his mouth during pressers You'd think a big company like that wouldn't want a dude constantly saying stupid shit like that but they like Dana White and he does it all the time as well.

Getting real sick of this “grindset alpha male” horseshit getting blended into my wrestling escapism this week. The world is toxic and demoralizing enough as is. Can we just not?

The counterpoint is “Will shouldn’t have taken shots on national TV” is “HHH shouldn’t have taken shots on national TV” and it’s worse for him because a) he’s in a position of power and b) he had the perfect opportunity to counter McAfee’s question with “We did lose out on free agents and these negotiations are always tricky and we wish them well in what comes next but don’t count out that we’ve signed Jade Cargill, someone who is wrestling this weekend, and we have plenty of other surprises coming up in the next few weeks to help grow our stacked roster”. Put over who you have and big up WrestleMania, the thing you’re there to promote.
And to add, it wasn’t like Will hasn’t been showing people what HHH missed out on, everyone was talking about his matches with Takeshita, Fletcher and Shibata just recently.

I think it was justified for Ospreay to take a veiled dig at Triple H in this scenario (assuming Triple H was referring to Ospreay in the interview which is my guess but not definite). Your mileage may vary as to whether it was a good dig or not, or whether the timing was poor coming right after the Punk video, but I don’t think Ospreay was out of line.

A response like that would require HHH to be even halfway competent at PR, which the past several years of press conferences has shown he's not. Oh he's good at handling the softest of softball questions but give him pushback on anything, whether it's Patrick Clark or the Vince lawsuit, and he shows his whole ass.

Honestly Cody is a much smarter version of Triple H at least he knows how to pivot uncomfortable questions and still give satisfying answers.

Triple H is great at creative, mending fences and seemingly at being well-liked by all of the talent working for him, but he’s definitely not a properly trained PR type for press conferences/interviews (albeit, neither was Vince).

I just want a place to enjoy my AEW shows without pedantic bad faith discourse. I thought this place might be it so after lurking I finally made an account. Now I am unsure about my decision. Having been here for, god help me, 11 years (this account is a re-reg), FAN is generally pretty good. It's pretty easy to weed out and block the trolls and bad faith posters; my block list grew by like 20 after the Punk/Perry fight footage thread. And for as much as general topics can get bogged down in discourse about whatever, the live threads are a lot of fun. Ah thanks for the tip. I usually can't watch live because we have a little man who goes to bed around airtime. Then I usually watch the next day because I am exhausted lol. Is there a discord or anything for this board?

I hope everybody's got it out of their system and we move on. He's entitled to take a shot if he wants, but the DISCOURSE is just tiring around all of it.

That Rumble Press shook him to the point no one asked him the hard questions at the Mania Press, if anything HHH learned from Vince how to brainwash fans and making them believe he is the Messiah of Pro Wrestling.

It’s staggering how bad he is with this stuff and how nobody has taken him aside and said as much but I guess when you’re the market leader and you’re in the same parent company as Dana White, that stuff isn’t seen as a priority.

x.com/DrainBamager/status/1778808439269122269And to add some context to the overall context to the night as well, and as many of us noted already, Schiavone's reactions were not "on no, not WCW again" and more "those dastardly heels." So I'm sure Renee's reactions were in those same lines as well and not of embarrassment as a lot of people speculated. Not accusing people here of saying but definitely the narrative I've heard around the grapevines.

The only thing I can criticize Will for is that there were probably even funnier things he could have said about Triple H. Yeah, the boss's daughter dig is so played out, and not even based in reality, as Hunter was already a multiple time world champion by the time he and Stephanie were an on-screen couple, much less dating.

There should be at least 4 reporters at every press conference trying to take him down (Jack Anderson style, not Hausman style). Because he's shown he can't handle it.

Honestly the Triple H line was more annoying than the Punk stuff.
Punk is Punk. But when Triple H said that line, it came across as so damn petty and unneeded. Especially since Ospreay had been nothing but respectful to WWE in all of this as well.
Also dude two of your best friends were Nash and Hall, and your top guy is Roman Reigns. Shut up about the “grind” nonsense.
