0-0 ties can be exciting and come down to excellent defending and goalkeeping though. High score does not equal entertainment. So then its all just running and kicking and missed goals then. Yay? Okay, take a team and give them a rock solid defence. If that team concedes no goals it can't lose, thus the entertainment for the fans is that they have conceded very little and have a very high chance of winning the league. Most major soccer titles have been won by teams that have had the best defense not attack. Certainly no team who rely on attacking have ever won the Premiership, they just concede too many. It may be entertaining but you just don't win any trophies. It's all high quality goal keeping, last minute tackles, missed chances, and usually a fair few fouls. The Italians used to be (arguably they may still be) the best at defence. Of course it could be down to the fact that a goal just gets you one on the score sheet. Unlike American Football where a touchdown gets you 6!

Well, technically, NFL games can also end in 0-0 ties. They don't though. When is the last time that even happened?

So as you can see with those numbers being put up, its improtant you get in the end zone as much as possiable in a game.

Unfortunatly the Dolphins are representing us in this game.... Who cares. Every team has to play some international game for some dumb reason. It started two seasons ago in Mexico and will continue for one game each season until all the teams go abroad. I care because I wish they could get a better taste of football then this years sorry Miami Dolphins.

When is the last time that even happened? A 0-0 tie has actually never happened in the NFL at least as far back as 1974 (when overtime was introduced). I'm saying that it COULD happen. The last regular season tie was in 2002 - The Falcons and Steelers tied 34-34.

I don't like the idea of the NFL going international. I ESPECIALLY do not like the idea of the Superbowl going international. Not when the league is too chickenshit to have it in Chicago or Green Bay. SO if they ever move it out of the USA, then its a big slap in the face.

Next year some other country that doesn't deserve a NFL game will get two other teams. I think we should just run those games in Canada. They're cool AND our neighbors. Lets make them the focus of our handing out entertainment.

Also, Kansas City Chiefs have already thrown their hat in to go overseas next year and I believe the Patriots have as well.

Playing NFL games internationally, while probably something that makes a good amount of money, is a terrible idea IMO. I doubt any of the players won't to go through the travelling, and it also robs a team of an important home game.

Unlike American Football where a touchdown gets you 6! To be fair a Touchdown is 6, an extra point is 1, a field goal is 3, a two-point conversion is 2, and a saftey is 2. Having the different point system creates a strategy for the coaches. Like when do they go for a 2 point conversion and when do they go for the way easier extra point?

Wow the thread deteriorated into a Football vs Football arguement. Completely stupid. Of course it has, it always does. I knew this would happen the moment I saw the thread title. People seem to get too upset over the idea of different sports having the same name, and then feel the need to compare them despite the fact that they're totally different.

You can blame me for that, as I made the point that at the same time as the Wembley NFL game, Liverpool will be playing Arsenal in the Premiership. Does Rugby appear on tv or played in America? Seeing as it is fairly similar to Amercian Football.

The name is strictly where you grow up. Neither are "fake" sports, so they both are "real" football. If your from the US just call it Football and Soccer. If you're from England just call it football and American football. It doesn't change what the sports are.
