what about Flair in 1999? What happened then? He's talking about Commisioner Flair/Flair in a mental institution period, unless I miss my guess. Again, Flair taking pure crap, and polished the turd up to something mildly watcheable.

I have to say, the current poll results as of this post(Flair-13, Rock-11) is the number I expected honestly. Both are great, but Flair I expected to win...but not by a cakewalk.

The one thing that Rock has over Flair is how the Rock had an incredible gift of able to shift in tone in rapid-fire motion, and a vocal range to put himself over. It's amazing how few wrestlers understand how to use more than one tone of voice.

"Well ya know something? The Rock says this...(monkey reference) (body part reference) (catchphrase) (catchphrase) (same monkey reference) (different body part reference) I'm going to win 1-2-3. If ya smellllllllllll what The Rock is cookin'!"
The Rock cuts the same promo every time. He just moves around the same phrases (lay the smackdown, rudypoo candyass, jabroni, pie...and that is all)
Ric Flair on the other hand actually makes you care when he talks, sure he can make you laugh. But when he's on the mic you listen because you know it'll be good.

Flair, especially back in the day, The Rock is great, but he had a lot of catchphrases that were like a crutch I think(not his fault though) Flair on the other hand, had some catchphrases, but didn't even have to use them, he could come out and just improvise so well, he had that magic

rock was slightly better on the mic but im voting for flair seeing as most of his was ad-libed and not written for him by scriptwriters ala the rock

Flair hands down. The Rocks promos never did anything to further a storyline. They were funny(at first anyway) but aside from a few laughs, they were good for nothing. Making fun of his opponents with silly nicknames and using catchphrases to death might make for a nice chuckle from the crowd, but nothing he ever said made me think "Man! I really wanna see this match now!" Add that to the fact that he became a walking catchphrase the last 2 or 3 years of his run(seriously, every promo was the same 4 lines), and Flair gets the nod with ease. Flair made you want to see him get killed, or get a win, and made you think that no matter who he was wrestling, it was gonna be the greatest god damn match you ever witnessed.

Rock. I found it amazing how he absolutely held the audience in the palm of his hand whenever he had a mic.

This poll isn't fair to Flair!!! Flair by a mile- his shoes are worth more than even Rocky's house.

I've got to give it to Flair, sinse The Rock barrowed some of the aspects of a Ric Flair promo.

I find Flair on the mic extremely annoying, hes not funny can't understand a word he's saying half the time and then goes insane! The Rocks are much more wittier and humours,, you are always guaranteed a laugh.
