How have they ran it into the ground? The vids barely last a minute and the only people griping about it are smarks who read on newz sites that Jericho allegedly would be returning tonight. How are the smarks the only ones griping about it? Shhh they don't hear the Y2J chants in the arena.

How are the smarks the only ones griping about it? I have classes with people who watch Raw and are just casual fans, they don't know about heel turns and face turns or who has backstage power and such, but are big fans of Shawn Michaels and Triple-H. And every Tuesday when I talk with them, they usually mention those two or maybe Austin or Cena and what they did, nothing at all about these "Save Us" videos. I don't see how a casual fan could get upset over this as it was never implied that Jericho was coming back tonight at all. Just some viral marketing, could've been anyone if they wanted it to be. Not even once, only smark conjecture and hype which led to that and people on the net are dissapointed.

What ever happened to build up? The original Countdown to the Millennium took a good 3 months, if I remember right. THAT WAS THEN. THIS IS NOW. WWE RUINS EVERYTHING AND IS (UN)CREATIVE... BLARGH I do not know. I love the hype. Be it negative or positive. Agreed...it's going to make his eventual return more special.

Still doesn't mean WWE has to deliver on it as they are under no obligation to do so. For all we know it could be the debut of a 300 pound hoss from OVW called .222 and his finisher is called "Save Us" or something.

I officially quit caring when Raw went off the air.

Jericho was in Philadelphia today doing book store and radio stuff, and wasn't on RAW tonight, airing live from the very same city. As far as his imminent return to the WWE goes, that gives me more useful information than anything I've seen in these SAVE_US.222/X29 videos.
Not saying he won't be back eventually, but these videos could still mean just about anything. Tonight was the last night I'll tune in thinking this stuff means Jericho. The IWC's to blame for taking these videos and giving them a life of their own. For instance, maybe .X29 didn't mean 10/29, and maybe Jericho being in Philadelphia the same day as RAW in Philadelphia on 10/29 all meant nothing.
Must have been huge coincidences. Another huge coincidence is that this was the first time I've watched a whole RAW in two years. They totally got me this time. They even told me to "Please Stand By" during three so-called "Jericho videos", and I totally did. If Jericho ever does come back, I'll watch it on YouTube. I just can't sit throught the rest of that brutal show every single week waiting for Jericho, even if it was my fault for getting my hopes up.

Actually, I thought "Well, there's another gimmic they ran into the ground and the wrestler hasn't even showed yet" How have they ran it into the ground? The vids barely last a minute and the only people griping about it are smarks who read on newz sites that Jericho allegedly would be returning tonight. agreed. it's makes me laugh, because you have some people crazy excited about it, some people crapping all over it, and then the majority of everyone right in the middle...where they probably should be still...

I realized that tonight was the peak of my excitement and while I will be happy that he returns, I wont care as much as I did tonight. Me too. Whether it be Jericho, or someone else.

There stretching this thing way too much, I think it is enough. What ever happened to build up? The original Countdown to the Millennium took a good 3 months, if I remember right. The difference then is the countdown pretty much told you when Y2J would debut. True, it may be a stretch for the average wrestling fan, but a little math pinpointed the exact day from the countdown. Besides, you had plenty of other stuff to tie you over until then: Rock, Austin, Undertaker, DX, a solid midcard. Now, the E won't dare be clear about it, instead giving you vague teasers and clues that may or may not add up. Why? Let's face it: there is not much there right now to keep you tuned in. The top draw is on the DL, the heel champion is about as exciting as a dentist's convention, and everybody knows he's only keeping the belt warm until the said top draw returns. With the only other thing going for the E's top storyline is "Evil Boss Screwing Over Babyface 425" for the main event storyline, this is basically the E's only trump card right now. If they actually blurted out "Y2J Returns In 3 Weeks", the ratings would likely tumble in the remaining shows before then.

I don't think it's that easy. I think this is Vince et al missing the point. The buildup to Jericho's debut was great, because we didn't know what was coming. Now we're waiting for it and getting damned impatient. This won't hold out for the long buildup Vince is hoping to pull off.
Tonight was the night and they missed it. Teasing it for months (or even month) won't have the impact of bringing him back tonight or last night. People were hyped and now they're disappointed.

How long has it been anyway? A month? Not more than two certainly.

Does anyone remember the orginal Jericho countdown? There was at least two occasions when WWE moved the clock.
Beyond that, remember that only the 3% of the audience that checks internet boards actually know what "Save_us" is, the other 97% have no idea what the hell it is. That 97% is what the WWE plays to.

They're crossing the barrier from "excited" to "impatient." "Pissed" is within spitting range. Does anyone remember the orginal Jericho countdown? So they say, but they say wrong. If 97% of the fans didn't read the internet, then there wouldn't have been massive "Kennedy" chants the week or two after the bastard son angle was announced and Vince had everyone around the ring. Jericho you could make the argument that it looked like a Jericho promo, but there was no way they'd know about Kennedy except via the net. Make no mistake, the majority of fans may not agree with all the smarks on things like Cena or HHH but they do read Internet wrestling sites.

Another sense of the hypocritical nature of this board. People bitch when they give a "feud" a month, then put the blow-off on Pay Per view, but then when its someone they really want to come back, WWE is "running it too long."

QFT. This angle should go to at least next year before any sort of resolution. I'm sick of WWE blowing their wad with their latest storyline. Time to give something an actual point.
