Rammbock (aka Siege of the Dead), a German zombie movie from a few years ago.
Bizarrely short runtime for something that was in cinemas.

I'm assuming HaxMega is still going with his livestreams? Not sure. Justin.Tv isn't around anymore, so I dunno where else he is Hmm, if I remember right he had a Ustream and maybe something else. Oh well, guess we'll see what options are there on the day. One thing I can count on is that someone somewhere will be streaming.

Deadgirl.
Very different, creepy slant on a zombie movie.

Just heard about the start date. Very excited. I know I haven't posted here in a good while, that's mainly down to not having as much time due to work and during the entirety of S4 I was away in a place with less than stellar connection, but I very much look forward to once more participating in the live chats. I'm assuming HaxMega is still going with his livestreams? Ok so not including the possibilities of weekends where they dont air a new episode. And assuming the opener and finale will be double episodes shown on the same day. This season will go to September 12th.. The eve of my Birthday, how convenient However I assume there will be breaks.. I'm predicting an early October finish A good six months of Ponies And that is a very encouraging thought.

Big Show or Kane being WWE Champion is like a Batman movie where Joker is the villain. Sure you'd think it would've happened at some point but they just never got around to it.

The funny thing about Clara is I liked previous incarnations (Dalek & Snowmem) 21st century Clara is just awful. I'd like to see an Alien female or even a female from the past (Victorian, French Revolution), Enough with the modern Females Initially, after Asylum, I thought that would be the one Clara. As in, The Doctor picks up a companion he knows will end up turned into a Dalek. It would have created a new dynamic, extra jeopardy, especially in Dalek episodes, tension as the Doctor is clearly hiding a big secret from her, subplots where he's trying to figure out a way around it. ....I'd never even considered that scenario. Damn, I wish that's what they'd gone with.

I know how diverse opinions on Who can be, but I really can't understand how anyone could stick through Series 2 or Series 6 but not Series 8. I mean, Series 6 literally had two stories swapped around in development based around themes of parental abandonment without tying it in at all to Amy and Rory and how they felt about Melody being taken from them in either episode. The opening story's resolution was the Doctor turning all of humanity into unknowing killing machines (so long, moral of Journey's End and The Waters Of Mars!) and shooting aliens with the Sonic Screwdriver because hey, what use is a hero without a laser gun? And then not only did you have to sit through The Rebel Flesh/The Almost People, possibly the dullest two parter the series has ever had, but then there was 'Let's Kill Hitler' and a series finale that didn't actually finish anything. We had to wait until The Time Of The Doctor (more than a season later) to actually find out what the whole bloody thing was even about. Oh, by no means am I saying that I think the previous series were perfect. As much as I enjoyed them I can openly acknowledge problems during both Smith's and Tennant's runs as the Doctor. The difference is while those series as an over-arching story had issues, I found that the individual episodes themselves were enjoyable to watch, even the ones that were just monster-of-the-week filler. So basically while the end product was flimsy, the component parts still were strong. I have SERIOUS issues with Tennant's last episode, but I caught it randomly over Christmas on TV and found even with my longstanding annoyances I still enjoyed watching it. But the episodes in Series 8, as individual units, I don't think I'd have any great desire to stick around to watch most of them were they to pop up on repeat. They just felt 'off' in some way. For example, In The Forest Of The Night, that really should've been a two-parter. Make the situation seem dire, have the kids be in some seemingly inescapable danger, build some suspense, develop the back story of the little girl's missing sister so that we actually care at the end when they're reunited. Boy, that last point really annoyed me. All the trees disappear and the sister is found to be inside a bush by their house? Okay, the aliens brought her back, but were they the ones who took her so the little girl would be all messed up and she could communicate with them? Did they locate the sister through some sort of psychic link? Was that established as a thing they could do? How did they transport her via bush? Was it established they could do that? It came off as what I suspect it was, a happy ending tacked on without any thought to how it occurred. It just added to the feeling of this was a story with potential that was rushed.

Bye then. You'll be back. It's the same thing from fans every year, "Oh, series X was terrible, I won't bloody watch it again". Most of the time they never really mean it. Series eight was bloody brilliant, but then, I don't take this daft old kids show half as seriously as others. I'm not going to swear off the show or anything like that but I will say Series 8 was probably the least enjoyable season since the revival. And it's a shame as I've enjoyed Capaldi but with maybe the exception of Flatline and Robots of Sherwood, I can't think of a single episode I would bother rewatching. So many of the episodes were forgettable or had promise but the stories were just rushed. It got to the point where I began thinking "Maybe the show was never that good and maybe I've grown out of it". But nope, I caught some older episodes on TV over Christmas and still enjoyed them. It was simply down to poor writing that series 8 fell so flat for me.

They did give us "Victor von Doom", after all. I love Doctor Doom but even I have to laugh at his real name. I mean what hope did that kid ever have of growing up and not being a tyrannical madman?

A recent one is the sudden influx to my Facebook of pictures of the minions from Despicable Me accompanied by generic quotes that could be put on to ANYTHING. I guess they're meant to be funny or cute or something. Examples.... {Spoiler}{Spoiler} So it turns out you can put anything down on a promotional pic of a minion and people will share it no matter what. So I figured I'd get in on the game and posted this to my Facebook. {Spoiler}{Spoiler} But apparently when I do it it's "weird".

Instead of a show that had a good first season and built on it, Prison Break ended up having a great first season, tripped up in the second and then proceeded to fall off the cliff and plummet further and further as the show went on.

I asked an artist friend to make me up a Stark themed hurley. Picked it up today and really pleased with how it turned out. Figured I'd share it here. (Using spoiler tag so as not to stretch the screen) Hurling's an ancient Irish sport that's still played today, and the hurley is the 'club' that's used in it. That's the first time a series trailer has hit and I haven't been that excited. While I'm still excited, personally this is the least pumped I've been for a GoT trailer. I don't know, I just don't think the song is a good match.

I actually quite liked the dumping eliminations. It was an interesting approach that made for a cool visual and made them seem imposing. I can't remember seeing something like that done before.
Admittedly I think that it would've been better placed earlier on in the Rumble. Have them take out the lower level guys like that, make them seem almost unstoppable and then it would've been a big deal when they were eliminated around the 3/4 mark.

I might be more inclined to this it if it wasn't for the fact that last night I watched 'Cyberbully' (a 60 minute TV movie with Maisie Williams) which took the idea of a mysterious online stalker and managed to be absolutely terrifying without delving into supernatural stuff. It was really effective in getting across the terror of what was happening and actually delivered a really important message in the end. This just kinda looks stupid in comparison. I'll have to look this up, you're not the only person I know to give Cyber Bully praise If you're in the UK or Ireland it's available on 4oD. If not, well I suppose it's only a matter of time before it finds its way online through other means. Either way, I'd certainly give it a look if you can track it down.
