Mox feels like he needs juuuuust a slightly longer guard when buzzing his head. But maybe I'm just used to how scruffy he's always looked and this is honestly probably the most spit and polished he's looked in ages. It's by no means a bad look, just different.

There's a part of me that would absolutely love to see TK call their bluff and be like "let's see your punitive action, dipshits", because it's entirely probable that they could respond in a way that would open up the state for their own legal challenge (and I'd almost be willing to bet TK can get better lawyers than OK), and also because there's damn near no straightforward way to deal with these idiots and they'll somehow feel emboldened no matter what you do which is the aggravating part. So I'd almost just advocate doing whatever will piss them off more.

[/div]
Aha. Well by this time, the media seemed to mostly look down on 80s SatAM fare in general, from the condescending pieces I saw on Newspapers.com.
As a bit of a tangent, it's kind of amazing how downright patronizing a lot of review articles were for stuff that's looked upon fondly these days. Search for reviews of Star Wars circa 1977 and you'll find plenty of utterly dismissive reviews. Yes, ANH is by no means a perfect movie and there's always a nostalgia factor in play nowadays, but some of the reviews read like they were never intending on giving it a chance anyway... though that's relatively par for the level of contempt that "genre" of any kind got in that time period.

I'm not unconvinced that Angel Hernandez isn't doing it on purpose to see how flagrantly bad he can be. Makes me feel for the umpires who are genuinely good at calling like Pat Hoberg because of clowns like this.
Also, the Yankees bore the hell out of me and I hate that they always seem to have Cleveland's number when they come by.

Schiavone has seemed strangely off as of late, which unfortunately is going to be even more fodder for the bad takes when it could be very well just he's getting over an illness or he's got personal shit that he's dealing with.

I think what's been the most exhausting is that 9 times out of 10 it's literally the same arguments over and over and over and over again, both within the same thread and just repeatedly on these boards, like someone took the 2010 Raw approach of feeling like they needed to re-remind everybody after every other commercial break.
It's like how any new debut or even guest appearance gets the "I don't know who this is therefore nobody knows who they are and AEW is losing fans" while completely ignoring any introductory context given during the show itself, along with the inevitable goalpost moving about well what's actually good enough.

Blah, but I'm cautiously optimistic because:
A. I'd rather them know reasonably in advance and get to wrap things up properly, B. Five seasons is still a good run and I think people *still* unfairly hold things up to the standard of TNG/DS9/VOY having 7 seasons when TNG was very obviously running out of steam and VOY probably would've been better served with modern story arc planning vs stretching out to fill a syndication quota. C. Speaking of story arcs, I feel like the individual character arcs have been moving along at a reasonable pace so far, and... D. The main cast is clearly being set up to all graduate from being lower deckers, so to speak, and there's not necessarily anything stopping them from having a continuation show that's just not called "Lower Decks".

Ron Simmons' spinebuster. AA's is much more crisp and technical, but Ron Simmons' just LOOKS like it'd end you from the sheer violence and impact of it alone.

And I don't even think that's really on Abrams so much as it's Rian Johnson throwing out damn near every thread setup in TFA like Michael Scott doing improv, and then Abrams having to somehow salvage things. He still could have tried to salvage it a lot better than he did... I'll be curious what the presumed Filoni Master Plan is to salvage the salvaging so that Star Wars can actually move forward again vs continuing to awkwardly stuff things between ROTJ and TFA.... actually heck that's almost the literal opposite of the Star Trek lost era issue.

Kind of curious if they're still hanging onto the trademarks for the early AEW specials like Fight for the Fallen and Fyter Fest, though the latter I wouldn't be surprised if they let it die since that's an increasingly irrelevant in-joke of a name anyway.
Still loved the incongruity when Beach Blast was a Cleveland show in the wintertime.

I mean The Force Awakens was a fine setup for a new Trilogy of Star Wars... it was semi-remake of the original but it set everything back on the right foot... When he came back for The Rise of Skywalker is the issue... or more it's the issue of he made a Trilogy in two parts... It's almost like Force Awakens Rise of Skywalker with no real middle \ The last jedi as some Side Story / And I don't even think that's really on Abrams so much as it's Rian Johnson throwing out damn near every thread setup in TFA like Michael Scott doing improv, and then Abrams having to somehow salvage things.

For as much as TOS origin stories & academy-era TOS crew stories are getting as beaten into the ground as feeling the need to depict a Batman origin story yet again, I can't help but notice that there's seemingly been zero interest in exploring the earlier days of the TNG crew or really doing much of anything in the timeskip period, which is kind of obnoxious.
That being it's still honestly kind of ridiculous the differences in approach between Discovery and Strange New Worlds in terms of how to do a prequel/interquel series properly. And I say that as someone who thought the Discovery hate was excessive.

Crowd surprisingly does not care for any of this. That is pretty damn silent. I wouldn’t say that….dunno how it came across on tv though 🤷🏼♂️ I swear the last time AEW was at the Coliseum the crowd also came off as quieter on TV than y'all said it was in-person... I also remember people using that to be all like "OH CORPUS CHRISTI BAD WRESTLING TOWN NEVER RETURN" when it's not like there haven't been other venues that weren't mic'd well or anything.

Honestly my inner Heath Ledger Joker is giddy at the thought of how badly Punk might react and can't wait for the next time Pepsi Zero gets handed a live mic.

Ah yes, with any discussion of the All In incident, comes the notion that flagrantly assaulting a coworker in front of like literally everybody, shouldn't get you fired even though it would in literally every other workplace ever.

Also, wasn't the Punk confrontation with TK a separate thing after the confrontation with Perry?
Could've sworn it was something like TK going up to Punk and being like dude WTF and Punk still being in full rage mode.
