Check out my review of this film. From what I understand, it seemed that the movie "Kids" was one of the inspirations for this film. There was virtually no likable characters in that film, either. I did like the story and the way it was presented. I found it interesting that it was shot on a 4:3 ratio and I like the soundtrack to it. I can't argue about the characters. I really did not like Ruben, especially when he started giving Stevie the cold shoulder after the guys gave him attention from that accident. I also wondered if his philosophy about "saying 'thank you' makes you gay" was somehow ruined after Ray told Stevie that saying thanks is proper manners. When he said that, my first thought was “Ray literally just said ‘thanks little homie.’” Ruben was such a trash person I didn’t even feel bad for him.

I hated every single character in this movie outside of the mom. I'm not sure if you're supposed to hate them or what, but holy hell they're all the dirt worst. I just couldn’t understand why she would let them see Stevie after what happened. I thought she was gonna wake them up and yell at them. These dudes almost got your son killed, what are you thinking?! But yeah, damn near everyone else is just an all around terrible person. Ruben and f***shit and the older brother tied for worst.

Anyone else see this movie?
So I rented this movie simply based off the fact that it was written and directed by Jonah Hill. I'm...not sure how I feel about it. I think I...liked it. But I don't think I enjoyed it. If that makes sense. And by the end of the movie, I feel like the only likable character ended up being Ray. Like, ONE likable character in the whole movie. And the girl and Sunburn going into the room was just awkward as shit.

Bold prediction:
This is the exact OPPOSITE of a monopoly. Why? Because in the next few years, this is going to lead to Vince McMahon retiring and having to choose who to leave the WWE to. On the one hand, Stephanie and Haitch have been groomed for the position for years now. On the other hand, the prodigal son returned and hasn’t left, he might want a piece of that inheritance still.
This leads to a program where Vince gives the company to Shane, causing Triple H to lead an NXT invasion of the main roster and they lay waste to the Raw and SmackDown rosters. Some old NXT alums turn against their Raw and SmackDown allies and join their NXT brethren. Some NXT wrestlers who feel negelected by Hunter take big offers from Shane to join Raw/SmackDown. It’s an all out war, which leads to matches at NXT Takeover: WrestleMania, a two day event.
I dunno how it ends, but in real life, NXT and it’s various brands will be spun off into its own organization, and given control of the SmackDown contract. Triple H and Stephanie will have controlling interest in NXT, and will now run the second biggest company on the planet, with revamped production due to H hiring a bunch of Full Sail alums he met. Meanwhile, Shane will take over WWE proper and hopefully set out to make the changes he always wanted to. He won’t have to start from scratch on the developmental front, however, as NXT did NOT retain the association with Evolve.
In conclusion, WWE is busy creating its own competition which, along with AEW and the continued growth of New Japan, will see the wrestling world with FOUR options. Bookmark it!

Greatest thing ever when I lived in Cali and could only get them on trips to the Midwest. Now that I live out here, I don’t touch the place.

MUSTAFA ALI! FABULOUS IS HE! ALI ABABWA!!! Surprised Vince didn't change his name to Prince Ali and give him the Aladdin gimmick. Ironically, it would have actually been relevant since we’re getting a new Aladdin movie next year.

Imagine the closing of the first AEW TV show, Cody and the Bucks are celebrating in the ring when the Revival hits the ring and takes them all out as Cornette walks up the aisle. They'd be the biggest heels in wrestling This makes me want a heel stable led by Cornette to take down the Elite and the mockery they make of wrestling.

I just think it’s one of those things where Jericho is a legend but he doesn’t have enough standing like Brock, Batista, Rock where he can show up once a year to wrestle a match and have people talking It seemed he finally reached that status when he wrestled Omega in NJPW but he came back for Raw 25 and that was it He’s like John C Reilly, a great actor with a following, but hardly the leading man. Tell that to Walk Hard, baby.

I didn’t like his attire originally either, but now I think it’s fine. It probably helps he’s gotten into a bit better shape, and the black outfit looks much better than the maroon.
The joint manipulation stuff, if done wrong, can be terrible (I’m looking at you, Zack Sabre). But Dunne does it with an intensity that makes it look extra painful.
And I don’t get the dislike for his mic skills. He could definitely use some work, but he’s still in developmental, so he’ll get there. And a manager wouldn’t be terrible, Regal or maybe even McGuinness would be awesome managers for him if he’s not promo ready for the main roster.

Loved NBK, but never saw it with her. It’s weird, I don’t have crazy standards, but she’s just never been attractive to me.

Start A Riot: youtu.be/dNRC137o0j8Brick in Yo Face (NSFW): youtu.be/XtW6HW8jO_USo I listened to What’s Up Danger from the Spider-Verse soundtrack and it actually was really good. Decided to give more of the album a listen, when suddenly my ears hear a beat familiar to my ears. I almost started singing “I put this brick in yo face,” before I heard the lyrics. So I thought, okay, wow, those are really similar beats, but it happens. Then, after mentioning the similarity the my wife, this dude jumps in and starts rapping about UFOs or some such and we both reach to check the phone because we BOTH swear it sounds like Stitches. I can’t find much about the song other than it’s by Duckwrth and Shaboozey, neither of whom I’ve heard of. But I hear at least three different vocalists on this tune... So did Stitches secretly let these dudes use the beat to Brick In Yo Face in exchange for letting him do an uncredited verse? 🧐

I hated how certain choices only lead to a prompt to go back and choose again. Either write a truly interactive show where every variant has it's own conclusive outcome or just tell the narrative you want to tell and leave me out of it. The worst of both worlds is this illusion of choice where you pick 'destroy computer' and then everything ends abruptly and you're taken back to that or an earlier point and asked to pick again. As a concept it's great but the delivery was absolutely awful. Wasn’t that a theme of the movie tho? I specifically remember in the ending where he finished the game on time and all that, he said he removed most of the choices and it was just the “illusion of choice” left, but he would decide how it ends.
