How dare you sully the great name of Samurai Cop by comparing it to TNA. You are out of line, buster. This can be settled with a duel I choose Broken Matt Hardy to represent me on the field of battle.

On one hand, it's really gross to want the company to close due to all of the people who would lose their jobs. On the other hand, after watching Bound For Glory last night, it is very clear that this company needs a mercy killing. I'm shocked it still has a fan base, as small as it may be. If they had any honor they would commit seppuku but unfortunately they got as much honor as Samurai Cop How dare you sully the great name of Samurai Cop by comparing it to TNA. You are out of line, buster.

i stopped my luke cage binge for this ppv. i dont know how to feel. i guess disappointed because i wanted to be done before the week started to avoid spoilers. I'm cruising along, up to early in E9, but had to call timeout for the Steelers tonight. It's good, IMO not Daredevil good but I'm a complete mark for both DD seasons.

Good Lord, popped back in the thread and this is the first thing I see! I offer sincere gratitude from all of us who joined late and didn't read from the start, missing this.

Maria's got a sweet ass. That's my contribution to this match. Backstage ... Cody: Dixie, why isn't my match on the program? Dixie: You're on a pay-per-appearance deal, sug. Cody: I know that. I'm here to make my appearance. Dixie: Well you don't get to make it until you pay us. Cody: WTFBBQ? Dixie: Tell you what, honeybunch, you pay for the TV tapings and we'll cancel the main event and put you in there. Cody: ...

Well, that will fall flat on it's ass. Can Gail fall on something that doesn't exist She can fall on Maria's ass, which I can tell you from a couple of ROH front-row experiences, quite exists.

The less we hear the more I think it's wwe The fact that Dixie hasn't tweeted for two days suggests to me that *someone* has bought her out. I just assumed Broken Matt deleted her. Making his the greatest gimmick ever.

Not wanting to take anything away from the marvelously entertaining Death Watch Clock thread, but thought I'd do a poll for kicks and giggles.
So who ends up owning this turkey? Not who you want to, but who you think will.

Due to all the shenanigans, all six wrestling newz reporters are going to order BFG, which actually doubles the buyrate.
It's quite brilliant.

The whole "The talent are showing up to work and no one knows the future" is way too eerily similar to how WCW died... Well, to be fair, when's the last time TNA talent showed up for work and knew what the future holds?

If they had a non-WWE deal, wouldn't they want to get it out there? Like, people are speculating that TNA's closing; wouldn't you want to reassure your fans if that wasn't happening? It's a little suspect. LOL, this is TNA we're talking about, so think what would be logical, and do the exact opposite I've been involved in a couple of things like this in the past (not wrestling-related, but acquisition) and there are definite things you can and cannot do. One of the things you cannot do is to announce, even internally, that a deal is done before it's done (because then it leaks and if something falls apart you've got major problems -- and that leak could cause the other party to drop out because of lack of trust that you could keep it quiet). You do not and cannot tell your employees, "Company X has bought us" or "We have bought Company Y" until the deals have been signed. Lawyers who are involved in the contracts tell you this because language can change up until the final draft and sometimes a minor disagreement over a few words that are important to attorneys on both side can hold up a deal (we had one that took three months to straighten out one paragraph between the lawyers even though management in both companies said "It's not a big deal, just do it" 100 times) or eventually cause it to not happen. Everything is on a need-to-know basis until a deal has been signed. The parties could reach an agreement in principle and agree to announce that jointly, but only once all the major issues, at least, have been worked out. The absolute stupidest, most-TNA-est thing they could do is tell everyone "We've got a deal with WWE" before it's signed and have Vince back out and the PPV and tapings be cancelled. There's no urgency to announce the deal on TNA's end if the PPV is going to take place. The urgency is to get the funds to actually have the PPV.

BC: I'm telling you Dixie, this is the last time I'm fronting the money if you don't sell TNA to me outright!
Dixie: Whatever you say, sug.
BC: I mean it this time!
Dixie: Be a good little boy and go smash some pumpkins or whatever it is you do.

I don't see him fronting the money for the TV tapings if he doesn't own it. Here's the thing though, if Corgan has bought it, wouldn't it be better business-wise to announce it before the PPV? If he wants people to watch that PPV and go to the show that is. Cause I cannot see anybody being interested in seeing this after all the bad press and possible dark future overing over the company. He can't announce anything until he has a deal. And he said this past week that it would take a few weeks to put that together. Don't forget, there are others (Aerolux, which sounds like a Nazi vacuum cleaner company, and FITE TV) who own part of the promotion. They presumably have to sign off on any sale, which they aren't going to do until they get paid back with interest. So he can't just say, "I bought it, come watch my PPV" until lots of contracts have been signed and it's a done deal.

Please Billy do not front the money again, that witch needs to go down with the ship. Billy's in a precarious position if he really wants to buy this sinking ship. If he lets the PPV and taping fail, the company breaches contract and no longer has a TV or PPV deal. In which case there's basically nothing to buy. He could own the enormous debt and a few contracts obligating him to pay a few wrestlers, a couple of six-sided rings and ... what exactly? He can't snap his fingers and get TV and PPV deals with a "rebooted, rebranded" TNA. So he'd own an overly expensive indie that would, presumably, have to try to put on live events to bring in any money (more of his money down a hole) and then throw money at taping a pilot that he could shop. And probably end up like JJ with no deal at all. The ONLY thing of value to TNA (and the value probably doesn't equal the expense of buying it, but it does carry at least the potential of future revenue that could turn things around) is the TV and PPV deals. And without BFG and another set of TV tapings, those go away. So Dixie can lead Billy around by his nose and say "Pay the man, sug" until BC either gives up on this idea entirely or his cash reserve dries up completely. He is, in essence, Dixie's hoe and her bitch. EDIT: The tape library has value, which VKM will eventually shell out a million or so for, but that's only after TNA shuts down for good.

Well that is the only way to get paid. Given that the TNA world title is probably worth $5 at the most, it's essentially a match for White Castle's dollar menu. Wish we had White Castle here.

So did she just say they're having BFG on Sunday and taping Monday-Saturday? Like every single day?

If BFG doesn't happen, does that automatically rank it among the top 10 TNA PPVs ever?

LOLTNA just became RIPTNA.
Unless JJ traded Dixie gold futures for majority ownership.
