Oh yeah, please never JR. I'd love someone to actually ask her the hard questions, but I feel like barring that, someone who knows Dixie is full of shit, knows he won't get anything sensible or rooted in reality out of her, and decides to try and lead the conversation in a way that lets her come off as completely deluded while letting her say whatever nonsense comes out of her mouth knowing it'll be something almost spectacular in its incoherence. Like asking her why she put the locker room address on TV and then not questioning her logic when she spouts nonsense, just letting that be the answer. But not at any point pulling a Jim Ross and blowing smoke up her ass. JR would kiss too much ass. Stone Cold tried to press her but she acted dumb. She wasn't acting.

Well like someone mentioned on the other tna business thread, we got ourselves a Blues Brothers situation here. We already have nazis and drunken hillbillies. The cops will get involved once Dixie is caught running a wrestling show without a business license. Josh: We're several million dollars in the hole, we've got a small hand full of ex WWE talent, half a stack of Bram contracts, it's dark and we're wearing Pope's sunglasses. Dixie: Hit it, shug! I was going to go for "Remain calm. All is well" from Animal House, but I'll concede the point to you.

Roman is way more over than a lot of IWCers would ever admit.
"They not only piped in the cheers and chants, they photoshopped people clapping."

They just covered the ropes with purple tape before the match, and took it off again after. youtu.be/kyu4QWwMGfIThis. I was at SD live last week. It took almost no time to change. The purple designates cruiser matches to give them a little bit more of their own identity. I can't for the life of me see how this is a big deal.

It just shows the power of Cena.
People for years SAID they wanted Cena off Raw. So he moves to Smackdown and all of a sudden they decide that's the better show.
They know deep inside they can't get them enough JC.

I figured Sami tanked it because the crowd kept doing the Ole' chants, disrespecting the Zayn character in favor of some generic indie masked guy.

Went to an NXT house show couple months ago. It was really scaled down (you know, like a house show) but the wrestling was excellent on the whole and seeing Naka and some others live for the first time was a real treat. Not to mention No Way Jose, who was surprisingly good and incredibly over. That sounds fun, I'm just debating how worth it to me it'd be. The only ones on my bucket list advertised as being there who I haven't seen yet are Asuka and Samoa Joe, but I have to get up at 5:00AM the next day...so I'm not sure about that, haha. I'm glad that it sounds as enjoyable as I was hoping it'd be though, and the venue is one I'm already familiar with. It's an older theater where they hold a lot of high school graduations and other ceremonies. Honestly, talking about it has me kind of convinced that I might as well go. It's also two days before my birthday... I hope you treat yourself. The 5 a.m. next day sounds tough, but we can sleep when we're dead!

Have fun man! And have a happy birthday. If your schedule allows, I recommend getting as fat as possible and trying to start a few chants. Just kidding. Shows are always more fun when you're there, so I hope you enjoy it. I was going to get tickets to No Mercy which is at the new arena here in Sacramento but they apparently sold out of all the ones that were in my price range. Now it turns out that NXT will becoming around right down the street but I'm not sure if I'll go or not yet. Went to an NXT house show couple months ago. It was really scaled down (you know, like a house show) but the wrestling was excellent on the whole and seeing Naka and some others live for the first time was a real treat. He clearly understands the true meaning of the word.
I've got good friends. Even great friends. But no friend as true as Jericho is to his buddy-for-life Kevin Owens.

I think SD is the better show but agree that so far lately it doesn't have the great high points that Raw sometimes does, and for me those segments often make Raw more enjoyable (I don't have to be on the edge of my seat for 3 hours, I can watch it and still do some stuff around the house and eat a bite and you need that in a show that long).
But I think the I'M ABSOLUTELY OUTRAGED reaction is often overblown. I enjoyed the cruiserweights debut match and so, if you read the threads, did a lot of other people, but I just have to chuckle and post after post and thread after thread about HOW and WHEN they gave us something completely fresh and different (from what we've seen for decades) -- OMG THEY SHOULD HAVE HAD IT AT THE START THIS IS HORRIBLE OMG IT'S A FREAKING OUTRAGE!!!!!!! is a bit much for me.
It's legit to have an opinion that they should have done it differently, but goodness, if I reacted that strongly over something that meaningless in my life, I'd have had a heart attack long ago.

All of this hand-wringing over "should he or shouldn't he?" makes me laugh. People are going to mark out no matter how much they pretend to care about Bryan's health. So you honestly believe that no one here genuinely cares about his health? I would love nothing more than to have the man return but to say that people are only pretending to care about Bryan's health shows a huge lack of basic human emotion. You may want to get that checked out because either you're just trying to troll people or you genuinely have some mental issues. Just looking out for your best interest. Hope you find help. I don't believe that no one here cares about his health but I believe some either don't care or don't understand the issues involved and how serious it is. I've seen numerous posts about how Bryan should just leave WWE and wrestling in Japan or the indies or do a part-time schedule or just come back full time. This very thread is about him coming back.

Before I get upset about the cruiserweights being "toned down" -- with no definition of exactly what that means or if it's true -- I think I'll wait until it actually happens rather than someone saying with no source cited that WWE is "apparently" going to do it.

Sadly, they seem to have made up after.
I was at the show and our walk back to where we parked takes us by the parking lot next to the arena where the talent park. So Alexa and Kallisto (in mask) come out together and go to their car. Along comes Becky a minute or so later. She comes to the rail and high-fives a few fans, thanking them for coming (but doesn't do photos or autographs, but still nice interaction) and climbs into the back seat and off they go.
For the record, Alexa was driving (which is good because I'm not sure how some random police officer might react to a car driven by a masked guy pulling by might go over).
Also saw a few others, including Dolph and Ryder who shared a ride, but the coolest was Rich Swann, who took his bag to his car and then came over to the rail and posed for photos with a ton of people and was very, very fan-friendly, chatting way with everyone.

That's the Jon Moxley-esque kind of promo I like to see out of Dean. It's why I've liked him since the indies, why I want him most of all to ascend to the throne.
But I was at the SD show live tonight, and I have to admit it's not really translating, at least not yet.
This is a helluva main event, especially for TV and more especially for what is still perceived as the 'B' show.
And from the moment they entered the ring until the last bell, it was Cena that the crowd was centered upon. There were repeated 'Let's go Cena/Cena sucks' chants, but no 'Let's go Cena/Let's go Dean' and only one Ambrose related chant that I heard, which never really caught on and died out pretty quickly.
And of course he's had absolutely dead crowds for some of his PPV matches.
Yes, it's true what he said (which makes it great to incorporate in his promos) that he's the guy who main events 300 shows a year (probably an exaggeration but true in spirit), the guy they call in to headline this house show and that TV taping and even a few PPVs. But he's not the headliner, he's more the workhorse, the dependable guy who the crowd kinda likes to cheer for but really hasn't, to this point, gotten behind in a way that gets him to the upper echelon.
No way WWE can see tonight or hear those crickets during some of his PPV matches and think, "We have finally found the new ONE." Not when the crowd is either disinterested in him or more interested, by far, in the other guy.
I hope that happens, but I don't see that it's in the process of happening now.
